Overview
Customer Management provides a centralized view of all customers who have purchased from your store. View purchase history, manage customer accounts, track lifetime value, and provide customer support with full context of their orders.
Prerequisites
- WordPress Download Manager installed
- Premium Packages add-on activated
- Customers with completed orders
Accessing Customers
- Go to Downloads > Customers
- View the customer list
- Click any customer for details

Delete Customer
- Open customer profile
- Click Delete
- Confirm deletion
Warning: This removes:
- Customer profile data
- Does NOT remove orders
- Does NOT remove WordPress user
Guest vs Registered
Guest Customers
- Purchase without account
- Tracked by email address
- No login access
- Can’t view order history themselves
- Limited data retention
Registered Customers
- Have WordPress account
- Can log in
- Access My Orders dashboard
- View download history
- Manage account
Converting Guests
To create account for guest:
- Open guest profile
- Click Create Account
- System creates WordPress user
- Customer receives login email

GDPR Features
Customer Data Options: ☑ Allow customers to export their data ☑ Allow customers to request deletion ☑ Anonymize data after [365] days
Data Export
Customers can request their data:
- Customer goes to account settings
- Clicks “Export My Data”
- Receives email with data file
Data Deletion
To delete customer data:
- Delete customer profile
- Or use WordPress GDPR tools
- Anonymized data remains for records
Data Retention
Configure at Settings > Privacy:
Data Retention: ☐ Keep customer data indefinitely ☑ Anonymize after [365] days of inactivity ☐ Delete after [730] days of inactivity
Troubleshooting
Customer Not Found
Causes:
- Different email address
- Guest checkout
- Typo in search
Solutions:
- Search by order number
- Check for email variations
- Look in guest customers
Duplicate Customers
Cause: Same person, different emails
Solutions:
- Merge customer records (manually)
- Update email on one profile
- Note relationship in both profiles
Customer Can’t Access Downloads
Causes:
- Order not completed
- Guest checkout (no account)
- License expired
Solutions:
- Verify order status
- Create account if guest
- Check license expiration
Missing Customer Data
Causes:
- Guest checkout with minimal info
- Data retention policy applied
Solutions:
- Request info from customer
- Check order details
- Review retention settings
