In order to achieve the above-mentioned functionality, you have to use the WPDM Pro plugin and the below add-on.

I have noindex the WPDM package as well as archives. But in the Google webmaster coverage report, I am seeing that Google is still indexing all the links to the downloadable files, like:
?wpdmdl=24161&refresh=60924e6f0b4421620201071Google has tagged it as “Indexed but Not Submitted in sitemap” tab.
Can you please guide how can we prevent indexing these URLs? As Google is indexing the direct links of the downloadable files.

Hi!
I have insert a download package by using server-path. Path is available – I can open file by direct-link.
But by click on the generated link on download page (my-domain.de/download/produktuebersicht-12-seitig-pdf/?ind=1620978687218&filename=2017-07-07_MBA_PAX_3-1_DE__5015-0003.pdf&wpdmdl=10909&refresh=609e2c307e9201620978736), I got error: “ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE”.What could be the reason for this?

Sorry in vacation, checking just now, this package https://pedrasriscas.pt/download/alisia-aneis/ is not updating for both allow access role as well as the page template and the link-template, can you please create a similar package new for testing

This answers how to whitelist files by extension, which is great, thanks!
BUT what if, as in my case, the file in question has no extension?
This is preventing users from downloading our software installer program, which has no extension.
We need help ASAP. Any link to the previous version (5.3.6, I believe) so that we can rollback our upgrade?
Critical site functionality has been affected by this bug and I haven’t found an answer yet, please help.

I have checked that, you are using custom archive pages link-template on your category page, please use this template tag [categories] on your link-template this should render the categories for related packages, for more template tag you can visit this doc templates, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/template-tags/

Please use the below shortcode instead and it should work. Don’t add thelink-template-button.phpin the shortcode.

First off, all my download boxes that were inserted with shortcodes are missing from all my posts and everything was previously working.
Second, the ones that I have reinserted are coming up with an “Invalid Link Error”. I have had this error before and it has been fixed here using this method: https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/invalid-download-link-3/#post-152279 but I have no idea how to fix it.

We’ve been using WPDM for several years on our website, with no headaches.However, now on the front-end, when someone visits the download page it says “There has been a critical error on this website. Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.” Below that text, it shows the header of the WPDM table, but no information.
We’re using the [wpdm_all_packages] shortcode, and that’s it.
I switched on PHP errors, and reloaded the page, and it shows the following….

Hello Chris,
This type of issue happens due to conflict with other third-party plugins, can you please enable/disable other plugins for checking, you may also switch the theme to another for checking.
However, the download worked fine whenever we have enabled Unmask Download Link Option. You can follow this as well.
