All my files are now showing invalid file type when anyone tries to download any of the files whether they are logged in or not.
I have updated the program
uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin
redone all the packages
Worked perfectly, thank you!
Hello Tricia,
You are welcome.
If you found my support helpful, could you leave your valuable review here https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/download-manager/reviews/?rate=5#new-post
It will inspire us a lot.
Warm Regards
Thanks for posting the screencast!
Please let the developers know that this does not work:
epub, azw3
It has to be
epub,azw3
This is unnecessarily difficult. You should allow spaces between the items. This is a normal way that people list things. The code should allow it to not frustrate users.
Hi b kh,
Thank you for your opinion. I am going to forward your request to our developers.
Have a good day.
Cheers!
Help! .pkg doesn’t work after most recent update! i can no longer access my uploaded media! To be clear, I had already uploaded installers with file extensions .pkg and now my users can no longer download the installers. What can I do?
Edit: it was the space tripping me up, too. You need to fix this! Super silly.
This answers how to whitelist files by extension, which is great, thanks!
BUT what if, as in my case, the file in question has no extension?
This is preventing users from downloading our software installer program, which has no extension.
We need help ASAP. Any link to the previous version (5.3.6, I believe) so that we can rollback our upgrade?
Critical site functionality has been affected by this bug and I haven’t found an answer yet, please help.
Yep! This plugin misses a lot of edge cases. You can’t even have a “.” period in a file name of any kind without it breaking, which is hugely problematic for versioning.
Hello Richard G.,
Hope you are well.
In the latest version of the WPDM, we have fixed your above-mentioned issue. You can rename your file name like this: FileZilla_3.53.1_macosx-x86.app.tar.bz2
and then try again.
I have made this screencast for you in order to show you my test result.
If you are still facing such a problem, please provide us with your temporary wp-admin login details in a private reply to check the issue.
Thanks.
Hello @yumaworks,
As you are using the pro version, adding *
in the allowed file type option should work fine for you.
Using the wildcard asterisk does not work. We rolled back to a previous version for the time being.
Hello @yumaworks,
Which version you are using free or Pro version?
If Pro then please share your WordPress admin login credentials with us in a private reply so that we can debug and give you a better solution about it?
thanks
My files are not downloading properly. I have tried all of the suggestions made in this post, and another to fix it, it works for some people but not for others. Please advise how to resolve this issue.
Hi @yellowballoons,
Please share your temporary admin login info in a private reply so that we can debug and give you a better solution about it.
