Hi!
Well, I see [wpdm_direct_link]
shortcode does “the same” that what I’m doing with [download_url]
or [download_link]
in my link template. What I need is one link/button that open the file in the browser and other link/button downloading the file, as WordPress Guttenberg File block does.
Thanks!
Hi,
I would like to allow my users to have the possibility of both open a file in the browser or download it directly (in the same way as in the WordPress Guttenberg File block)
If I enable the Open In Browser
from settings option, both the [download_url]
and the [download_link]
open the file in the browser.
I searched for this and found mentions of it in other threads but couldn’t find a resolution.
Thank you very much in advance.
Hi,
You can create a field name Email field in your gravity form. Then check the option in Enable form lock > Email Download Link
. Thus the download link will be sent through the given email address.
Thanks.
Hi,
For archive page shortcode [wpdm-archive button_style="default" link_template="link-template-default" items_per_page="10" order_by="date" order="asc" ]
you can set order_by="date" order="asc"
for date order.
and for giving access for a particular user for a particular page you can use this add on, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wp-pro-membership/.
Thanks.
When I turn on Form Lock I’m no longer able to download.
Here is an example link: https://portfol.com/download/test/
When you are using a plugin like live forms, gravity form, contact form. please place a field like an email address, then when the user puts the email, the download link will be served to the user given email. Thus, he/she will be able to download.
Thanks.
Hi,
If you found any issue before purchasing, you should see the demo. and for any default customization, you can knock here, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/?udb_page=upgrade. because the icon which you are talking about to change is the default behavior of the shortcode. for any customization, you can knock the provided link. and conflicting with your other plugin have to check the corresponded plugin which is making the conflict.
Thanks.
Issue #1. A couple of weeks ago after updating to the version before the latest I started to get the message below only when on the back-end by clicking on the Dashboard>Home page. Please note that this does not happen when I go from the front-end to the back end by using the WP top bar clicking on the name of the site and then Dashboard. This always lands me in the Dashboard Home page loaded correctly. Interesting part is that I’ve uninstalled everything, from plugins to themes and I still get the same message. I’ve even tried reinstalling WordPress by using the reinstall button on the update page. Still the same message appears in the same link even with everything off.

Issue #2. Now after updating to latest the list of tickets by the plugin Awesome Support stopped displaying users tickets. I know that this is the plugin that caused the issue because when I disable it then the list of tickets appear for all clients.
Icons generally work in link-templates via shortcode. For any customization and custom improvement of code, you can contact via this https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/?udb_page=upgrade link.
Thanks.
Yes, For working download link you have to set download files in your server as it was saved before like wp-content\uploads\download-manager-files
also other option like select from server
option. after all, you have to set as per link set.
Thanks.
But when I insert [download_link] it only opens now b/c I changed that master setting that you said in Step 1 above. So how do I override that for a new button to download the file? I want to have both an ‘open’ button and a ‘download’ button next to each other! Thank you!
Hi,
The custom template got corrupted during DB transfer, But we aged to restore it. To avoid the recurring issue I have created a template file 5e19a447ec45e.php
with the custom link-template code and placed it in /active-theme/download-manager/link-templates/
directory.
This is another way of creating a link/page template. Instead of using template editor and database, we are saving the template code in the actual file.
Thanks.
Hello again,
I again lost my template afte moving to another domain.
I copied files to new webspace and ex / imported database … changed license … and lost template
Get: Warning: Illegal string offset ‘content’ in …/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/admin/tpls/template-editor.php on line 69
when trying to add new link template
Could you help soon ! Thank you !!!
http://www.tp-sys.com/download and https://www.tp-sys.com/download/test-download/
I have on test file download page:https://www.tp-sys.com/download/test-download/
In blockeditor have basicly defined the following:
(Title of Page)
<div class=”row”>
(Page Description Area) ***Displays normally****
<div class=”col-md-9 col-sm-12″>
</div>
<div class=”col-md-3 col-sm-12″>
(Page Sidebar area) ***This output is missing****
</div>
</div>
Link Template value: Metro Style
Page Template Value: 2 Columns, Image Right
The “Page Sidebar area” coded contains a defined reusable block from Block editor. This section does not display.
Hi,
Please follow the same rule for page templates. And according to the code and design, you can keep both download links on the same page also open in download link in another window.
Thanks.
Thank you! I got that figured out now! In my settings, I changed the default mode of download to Open, as you instructed above. And that is good for what I want in the Link template.
However, on the page template, I would like to provide BOTH, an open button and a download button. Except now, my buttons only open! How can I make a “download” button from scratch and put that into my page template?
Hi,
Yes, you can change the look of page templates or link templates. Please check from Downloads > Templates
section. There also an available preview button of your templates. you can also create a custom template using the template tags.
Thanks.
Hi,
Is it possible to customize the download page? If so, which file do I edit? I am currently using form lock which sends an email with a link to the download page. This is the page I want to modify.
Hi,
You can create a new link template from Downloads > Templates
, then paste the below code in the link template HTML section,
<div class="media well link-template-widget">
<div class="media-body">
<a href="[page_url]" style="display: block;clear: bottom;font-size: 11pt;font-weight: bold;">[title]</a>
</div>
</div>
Then from Appearance > widgets
, you can select your created link-template. Thus you can show the packages in the widget area.
Thanks.
Hi,
Please copy the below code and then from Downloads > Templates
, Create a new link template, paste in HTML section the code
<div class="link-template-default card mb-2">
<div class="card-body">
<div class="media">
<div class="mr-3 img-48">[icon]</div>
<div class="media-body">
<h3 class="package-title">[page_link]</h3>
<div class="text-muted text-small"><i class="fas fa-hdd ml-3"></i> [file_size]</div>
Document Author : [author_name] |
Document Date : [create_date]
</div>
<div class="ml-3">
[download_link]
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
After saving the link template, you can choose your link template from package settings. Please check and let me know.
Thanks.
Hello WPDM Support,
My current WP configuration :
- WordPress : 5.3.2
- PHP/MySQL : 7.3.12 / 5.6.46
- Download Manager Pro : 5.0.7
In the package settings, I enabled the following protection options :
- LinkedIn Share Lock
- Tweet Lock
- Enable Twitter Follow Lock
In the frontend, I have this error message “there has been a critical error on your website” when trying to use one of the social buttons. Besides that, gogole connect and facebook Like buttons are working.
Debug mode is enabled on my website. I also tried to disable all plugins to avoid conflicts, but this didn’t solve the problem.
Why is this and how can I fix it?
Hi there..
i guess i didn’t understand it right..
– created a dir named download-manager in my child theme dir
– copied the link template in it
– added [link_label] instead of [download_link]
but it doesn’t work..
<!– WPDM Link Template: Default Template –>
<div class=”link-template-default card mb-2″>
<div class=”card-body”>
<div class=”media”>
<div class=”mr-3 img-48″>[icon]</div>
<div class=”media-body”>
<h3 class=”package-title”>[page_link]</h3>
<div class=”text-muted text-small”><i class=”fas fa-copy”></i> [file_count] [txt=file(s)] <i class=”fas fa-hdd ml-3″></i> [file_size]</div>
</div>
<div class=”ml-3″>
[link_label]
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
It’s not CSS related, but the fact the <div class="w3eden">
is added.
Some threads here point me to a possible solution (see https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/custom-link-template-3/, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/w3eden-div-is-forcing-link-to-a-new-line/ and https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/remove-the-w3eden-div-2/) where the last one sounds the most promising one:
You can use simple jquery with the theme to remove the div with the class name. But you need to run the code only for the page you want to hide the div.
var title = $(".w3eden").contents();
$(".w3eden").replaceWith(title);
Thanks
Applying the suggestion above, I added the following line in my scripts.js file:
$("div.w3eden").contents().unwrap();
but WordPress automatically adds </p> and <p> tags around the shortcode. https://wp-mix.com/wordpress-disable-extra-p-tags-shortcodes/ seems to tackle this but I wasn’t able to achieve this yet.
