I created a Python script to automate file uploads using the REST API (I generated the key in the plugin) with this fantastic plugin. Everything works perfectly except for one issue.
Despite the user having the necessary permissions, after automatically uploading the files, the downloads don’t work unless I manually enter each automatically uploaded download and click “update”. I have realized this happens because the master key is not generated.
Is there a way to resolve this without having to manually enter each download and click “update”?
I’m sorry?
So right now, if you have 200 users, and overall around 5000 downloads spread across these users:
The website owner has literally NO MEANS to see what downloads are assigned to user number 50?
There must be??? There has to be. Else that is an ENORMOUS DEEP FLAW in this system. A downloads manager where you cannot manage a list to see what is assigned to any given user??
The slight problem is, when someone logs in to handle all the uploads for the users, they go to the backend. Thre is no backend screen that shows all the Packages/Downloads, assigned to each user.
From what you are sayingw e need to create a link in a custom menu, that goes to a page using your Shortcode.
What exact shortcode do we need on a page, that will show ALL download Packages, and then be able to filter by user? (or search by user)?
” And for your requirement you may trying from Downloads > All Packages section there will be a dropdown where anyone login or the administrator can filter packages by Author. Please check and let me know.” This won’t help. As this is for example, things that I personall yhave uploaded. I want to know ANYONE has uploaded and assigned to a particular member.
I am making your requirement more elaborate, with this shortcode logged in user can see the all the packages created by him not assigned to him. And for your requirement you may trying from Downloads > All Packages section there will be a dropdown where anyone login or the administrator can filter packages by Author. Please check and let me know.
I’d like you to be a little more elaborate on your reply please.
So in short, where we CREATE the packages and store them, there is no way to filter them by user to whom they are assigned.
So we have to create a page for admins, with a shortcode that they allows us to view ALL downloads assigned to each user? It’s not making sense to me.
If I post a login as a private reply can you setup the page on our site for me, so I can see what you mean? It’s basically a list of ALL Packages created and then a means to filter by user.
I don’t mean in that page.
I mean when the admins go to the Packages page, they can’t filter on anything.
Downloads All Packages.
How do they go to this area, and filter by Users… or how do they do they anywhere else??
It’s a major flaw for them as that’s where they add them all, so how do they now go to that page, and filter by the user, to see if that users has all the downloads they need?
Unfortunately, search by tags feature is not available right now. If you want you can avail our Custom Upgrade Service
And also, I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. I thought you were looking to query all downloads from specified tag(s).
Visitors of the site are not able to download files via the download manager form. Neither am I or other admins. We are all greeted with a “permission denied .txt file for any file that we attempt to download or view.
I hope this message finds you well and thanks for contacting us.
– If you delete all files from Asset Manager, it will also affect the files on server.
– Currently, you can use the short-code or share links to share assets with others.
– You can check this plugin Advance Access Control. This will help you to control user-specific access to your files and document downloads.
Hope you are well. Your wp-admin credentials are not working. However, For the apostrophe issue with uploading file, can you please check the settings from Downloads > Settings > General > Upload Settings as I image attached,
And for loading the category automatically please add the init=1 parameter to your shortcode, Thus I hope it will resolve the issue. please check and let me know.
Hi,
trying to integrate the wpdm-form-lock to my downloads. But after i filled the form (liveform 4.74) it gets stuck – i see an ajax error with message: “is_file(): File name is longer than the maximum allowed path length on this platform (4096)”.
Please contact me for support.
Thanks
Hope you are well. And sorry for the inconvenience. Can you please elaborate on the package appears expired and I can’t update/download issue, are you talking about your site Downloads > All Packages issue or your order issue here, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/?udb_page=purchases from your account. please check and let me know.
It is working logging in with the clients user but is not working when the client does it. Even if it is there browser what could be preventing it from being recorded?
How does the stats get recorded? What could stop it?
As there are multiple users that are not being recorded what could cause this?
If it was just user it would be OK but as this looks like it is quite a few members and the stats are important to see trends and also to ensure that downloads aren’t abused, it is really important that this is solved. So it would be good to know what external factors could stop the stats from being recorded and if anything can be done about it.
