Am I missing something? Is there not supposed to be a single download page listing all categories and files in those categories where you can search for items etc in the Pro Version?
Topic: Upload files not working
Hi
I have just purchased a copy of the pro version and uploaded it as a plug in and entered the licence key as instructed. However when I come to start uploading files nothing seems to work.
All the items are there on the screen in the downloads screen but nothing happens when I press the select files button (Upload files from PC ) or select Icon button.
However, it does allow me to create a package title. i.e. if I enter in a product name and press create a package it does create a package entity – but just with nothing in it

Can anyone tell me where/how to change the css for the display of categories? I had this all fine and then upgraded and now get the default black bar etc at the top of each category.I have a page where I want to display all downloads in certain categories using the shortcode link this:

1) Download links were not appearing at all as selected page template didn’t have [download_link] tag, i changed it and showing ok now.
2) Create new link template using following code:<div class="media">

As for my other post I am still getting a problem if I activate Calendarize It, The Other Plugins have been replaced with ones that seem to not be affected as to where Downloads sits on the Dashboard, but if you activate Calendarize It you will see that it will not appear, until Download Manager Pro is deactivated…
But more importantly I would like to know why:
1. The Download Links do not appear at all.
2. Why does it take me to a second page, which I do not want, I just want someone to select the link that they want and then be able to download it without this second page appearing!In reply to: Nothing Downloads?

I installed Download manager on a site I am developing which is currently in test phase. I am unable to activate any downloads which were wokring originally. When you try and click on a download the screen goes grey and the pop up window fails to open.

Hi – does anyone know if it’s possible to alter the auto generated embed code for downloads?
Ideally, what I’d like to do is just have a page with a series of link labels, with each label giving the description of the download package. This is fine if viewing the site as a visitor, but when editing the page, all the labels just show as the embed code. This could obviously get a bit confusing if there are several downloads on a single page.

Here’s an example:

In the back-end of the site, the URL listed for this package is: http://www.onelittlebirddesigns.com/download/cut-out-like-me-inner-shadow-styles
But on the front-end, that package is linked as: http://www.onelittlebirddesigns.com/cms/download/cut-out-like-me-inner-shadow-styles/
That link goes to nowhere, on account of the /cms/ directory being inserted into the generated URL – which shouldn’t be there. The link in the back-end is the correct one.
I assume it’s also the reason why none of the custom templates (or even the default ones) will load and all my pages render with a standard template. It’s probably NOT looking into the /cms/ subdirectory, which is where the plug-in is stored?
Also if you follow the correct link: http://www.onelittlebirddesigns.com/download/cut-out-like-me-inner-shadow-styles/
You’ll see that it’s also inserting the /cms/ directory into the generated download link: http://www.onelittlebirddesigns.com/cms/?wpdmdl=14
It should be: http://www.onelittlebirddesigns.com/?wpdmdl=14
Both of them actually work for reaching the download, the problem is that the incorrect one takes longer to load, and also I don’t want that subdirectory displayed in any links on my site.

please unzip it first, you will see 3 packages there. install v3.3.5.rc1. please delete free version first if already installed.
install other add-ons from here, http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/downloads/add-ons/ for copy data from free to pro, tinymce button, download button image …In reply to: Wrap [download_link] with an image?
1) install and activate image button add-on.
2) go to admin menu Downloads Settings Buttons Tab
3) Select (just click) a button image
4) or upload your own image and select
5) Save Changes
That’s all. All of your download link should show with that image.
anyhow next update of wpdm pro will have new option to use image directly with download_link tag like this:

Got this message when upgraded Download Monitor ….Note: This plugin is no longer actively developed nor maintained! What si worse is they deleted all old versions and the author is A.W.O.L…..I have 400 pdf books and encoding 200 ePubs on our site – so a download manager //monitor is critical.So your conversion option in the Pro is very important.
I installed your free version – and it found the .pdf files as filed in the Download Monitor in their date folders…..so the URL’s under the file name is good as displayed in the File manager pages.. You can click on it and the file comes up. However the short codes do NOT WORK.
QuestionS:
Can I leave the “old/discontinued” Download Monitor plugin as active with the new PRO Download manager. …..will the two play well together?
1) Is the import feature only a feature of the PRO software? Notice it shows up on the top of the PDF I printed for you
2) Do the short codes work on a Static Page and a post/blog page…..?
3) Is there a better way to search by name and date and author ….other than paging though 70 pages of names. i do not see a search feature? Are there better search features in the pro version??
I will be needing a Pro version if can make the “”shortcodes work”” with a band width limiting option.
I just rest all the STATS in the upgrade….Are there ways to hide the number of downloads -public Display of Stats as a universal setting – without going through 400 books to turn the COUNTER off?

OK I have been able to also see that the Addons in the special gift pack are not showing up either. This is a weird issue, because i am able to get the free version in the WP Repo to work flawlessly.
To elaborate a bit more:
I am using WordPress 3.5, with multi-site (directories) enabled. This is the only site on the network, and I have super admin role/capabilities.Once the plugin is installed, and network activated, I am able to see the “Downloads” menu item it in the ‘sub-site’. But the plugin does not show up in the “plugins” section.
This kinda makes sense though if the issue is in-fact some weird permissions thing

Update: OK, Things seem to be downloading fine now (strange) so that bits fixed.
Am I able to just display the folders in the tree view without all the documents underneath too. All the documents are in categories but for some reason show in the category list as well as underneath the folder structure

I have just installed Download Manager and populated it with a few categories and documents.
However, when I click on a document from the tree view all I get is a black ish see through screen (kind of like lightbox?) and nothing downloads?Link here http://yorkmead.co.uk/yk2/?page_id=471
Also, on that page is there any way to hide the individual files at the bottom of the list as id rather people just navigated through the categories?

already did that Shaon, the base url slugs are “downloads” and “download”.
I have a page called downloads, but still somehow the “wpdmpro” page pops up, without anything in it. I have defined two categories that do not show up on that page.It seems that templates are just for links and places that the package is promoted. Is there a way to customize the appearance of the details page. For example, we want to allow individual file downloads, but there are no passwords. It looks odd to have a table with a blank column for password. Also, we do not need the download button for the zip file. Also, we’d prefer that the row for stock not appear in the other table. What’s that supposed to be for anyways?

I would like the category page to contain more extensive description for all the downloads in that category.But wont this remove it from all lists that I use, and as I have used the ‘dot’ for lists on my site which i need. At a push I can put up with the ‘dot’ its a little annoying, but the main issue is that the icon are not appearing???
I have just updated to version 3.3.3 and noticed that I am getting some strange things happen.

1. There is a ‘dot’ appearing at the start of the download box, this appears outside of the box in the top left hand corner in Firefox (17.0.1), and in Chrome (23.0.1271.95 m) it appears inside the box in the top left hand corner, how do I get rid of this ‘dot’???
2. In firefox, the icon for the download does not appear at all, and in chrome it just displays a small image that is nothing like the one that I have selected, I have tried to change the icon, but nothing is displayed in either browser, this did work fine prior to updating, how do i rectify this???
3. Underneath the word ‘test’ there is ‘…’ , is there a way to get rid of this???
4. The View Details option! how do i keep the ‘Bootstrap’ layout and remove the option to ‘View Details’
Any help would be much apprected…

I too am having the same issue, in the free version there was a short code icon you could select to insert your download packages, once i installed pro there is no icon, and I can’t figure out how to paste template downloads into my pages? Please advise, i have sent user info and login for you to check out.
