I’m using DM Pro on a pretty basic website with a page that hosts downloads via a category and corresponding widget. How do I do this with the new DM Pro? I’ve attempted to use the Gutenberg editor block for categories (right?) but when I attempt to select the categories the categories flash for a millisecond and do not allow me to select the category – not showing.
Can you please provide me with a solution? Thank you in advance!
Tim
I tried adding an ID column but when I do the import does not work. I see the plugin reports success and no error but afterwards the item is not found when I look under All Downloads.
Here’s is a link to the csv: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1y_YgupNMxbyBhrHQcEwS07j3q0BEPAme/view?usp=sharing
Hi Shahriar,
Things are picking up again for my site, thanks for all your help so far!
In my old system, every download by a logged-in user is included in a statistics table. That is really useful for many reasons. One example of a good reason is that I’ve had some people join my site, download thousands of files and then sell them on eBay. My logs have helped me to get eBay to remove these sales and the people selling them. I could demonstrate the use of the same email address to eBay (and in fact the same country using the IP address).
I’ve placed restrictions on the number of downloads per day using your plugin and that is great. Purchases are tracked (even if they are discounted to free) and that is also great, but I can’t find a way to have visibility of free downloads.
Is it possible to track all downloads (including free ones) in WPDM?
If it is not possible yet, can you please provide me a quote for adding that?
If it is a big job to make a backend log, to make it easier I would be happy to just have the option of receiving an email for every download including free downloads. Currently, I receive an email for all purchases and that is great but I would like additional tracking for free downloads. An email method is fine if it is the easiest because I can filter and tag the received emails automatically.
If you require payment for this please discuss in a private message so that I can confirm.
Many thanks,
Mike

When using the main download button:
To open file in new tab replace [download_link] with [link_label] in your custom page/link template.
However, this only works for me until I use a password protection. Then a new window will open but there will be no popup for entering the password.
I use for single file downloads link-template-default.php and for [wpdm_all_packages….] wpdm-all-downloads.php. What do I have to change to make it work?
You have attached files from /www/asset-downloads/
directory. Maybe those files don’t exist anymore in that dir. I need FTP info to check the directory and confirm if the files exist there or not. You can also check the directory.
If files are missing there then just put those files in that directory to resolve the issue Or reattach files from wherever they are by editing the packages.
It is better to keep all your files under the same parent dir for better management. By default Download Manager stores uploaded files in /wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files/
dir. So, you can move files from other directories in this dir as I see you have already uploaded some files there.
I am not getting any stats for downloads, either in the “Stats” section or when I look at the packages list in all packages. I have tried disabling/enabling the Download Manager plugin (as I saw this suggested in another forum post), but still nothing.
My site, and the download links, can be seen here: https://www.pclexperte.de/digitale-downloads/
Any help would be great.
Download Manager’s user dashboard does list all purchases. You are using the AAC shortcode for the dashboard. The shortcode for the user dashboard [wpdm_user_dashboard]
I have created a new page ( Dashboard ) with the dashboard shortcode. You do not need the separate page for Advanced Access Controls add-on ( to list user assigned downloads ) as Dashboard provided a tab ( My Downloads ) for those downloads.

Hi,
You have to add the key to your site. Go to the Downloads > Settings > License Key Tab. Put the key there and save settings.
If you are getting the error then install the latest version to fix the issue. Follow these steps to update the plugin,
1 ) Deactivate and delete the old version. You won’t lose any data.
2 ) Download latest version from here https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/?udb_page=purchases
3 ) Install the latest version and activate the license key.
Thanks.
Hi,
thanks, we have included the change and it displays downloads from child categories.
However, if we try to include downloads only matching multiple tags using:
[wpdm_category id="erp-scale-pse" tags="web" cols="1" order_by="create_date" toolbar=1 desc=1 item_per_page=10 template="link-template-calltoaction3.php" operator="AND"]
We get an empty list.
How do we get only downloads listed which have both of the tags web AND dropbox assigned?
Please download this file https://www.dropbox.com/s/ymrx03p8h37vya4/wpdm-all-downloads.php?dl=1 and place it in /active-theme/download-manager/
directory. This new template will override the default template and updating plugin won’t remove this file.
When I go to the front end and look at the items I have there for download, the PDF viewer now says, “You don’t have permission to download this file, even though I’m logged in as an administrator.
Looks like I have to manually edit the permissions on each and every one of my downloads (all 147 of them) individually to fix. Not thrilled.
Hi,
If you have removed the old domain from your order details page then just add the key on your new site. Go to the Downloads > Settings > License Key to add the key.
You have to install the latest version of WPDM on your new site. The license key won’t validate in some older versions.
Send temporary wp-admin login info and license key in private reply if you need help.
Thanks.
Really struggling with this app after purchase – cannot understand it and the videos on youtube do not have a getting started from basics. I only purchased because i needed to test the email oock function. I know it can do it but can i get the form and template to look elegant without being a developer?? where do i attach a screen shot of current form??
i dont want to show version, how many downloads, file count nor dates
i also want to change the stay in touch text
why are there two headings?
It depends on your Knowledge Base’s search feature. It is searching the Knowledge Base content before the shortcode being rendered. Even though your download contains the keyword “EPAL” the Download Manager shortcode doesn’t have this keyword. So, the Knowledge Base search can’t find a match.
You can place all your downloads somewhere else. Use the archive page add-on ( directory add-on ) shortcode which will provide easy sear and filter options. Then add the link to related doc in pacakge content.
Download Manager Pro creates the zip file when someone downloads a multifile package using the package download button. And stores the zip to serve to someone else later. Caching this zip saves the compression time for later downloads.
In your case, the zip file seems incomplete as you mentioned there is an extension after .zip. Maybe a bug in the old version. Please install the latest version of Download Manager Pro and let me know if that doesn’t fix the issue. I can install the updated version for you, just let me know if I should proceed with the update.
PS initially it will come up with a long series of columns for whatever you are editing. Then, you can tell it to search your database for more columns. Then, you take some time to add and remove (hide) columns that you aren’t interested in editing. Right-click on headings and many other things to find additional features. Select a cell and drag up or down (like in excel) to fill adjacent cells with the same information.
A good example – Edit your downloads (posts). Then search for specific ones you want to edit by name or template type (or anything). You can then change the price, template, link template or whatever you want to edit individually. Or, edit one cell (a link template for example) and drag to apply that link template to many items (hundreds if you like).
When you save, it saves a few at a time. It doesn’t overload your server.
Check your edited downloads afterwards. Occasionally it misses saving one or two. Usually, there’s a reason for that such as a secure PDF or some anomaly.
Hi Mike, thanks for sharing. Which of the paid versions is needed to edit WPDM Downloads? Is it the version called “Edit Posts, Pages, and Custom Post Types With a Spreadsheet”? Please let me know.
Hi,
Download Manager doesn’t add any rule to exclude WPDM packages from google indexing. Webmaster tools won’t exclude the downloads if some kind of settings is in place to exclude those. Another thing to consider, based on site popularity google indexing time may vary. In this case, you can submit your URLs manually for indexing.
Thanks.
Updated to 5.0.2
Successfully used WPDM Pro this morning.
Updated WPDM.
“Select from DropBox” now gives list of top folders and is grayed out page.
Must abandon page (changes) to regain control.
Cannot build new downloads
After encountering error, I reinstalled Dropbox Explorer add-on

You are using the “Call to Action 3” link template there. You have to modify the link template to remove the link from the title.
1 ) Clone “Call to Action 3” from Downloads > Templates > Link Template page.
2 ) The replace <a style="font-weight: 700" href="[page_url]">[title]</a>
with just [title]
and save the custom link template.
3 ) Copy the template id from Link Templates page to use it in your shortcode.
