Topic: Trying to get started here
Hello, I’m a new user and for some reason this is seeming way more complicated than it should. All i’m trying to do is add downloads to my membership site. When I go to create a new package, and upload a file from my computer it’s not uploading. When I go to change the icon associated with the package nothing shows up. When I go to preview a template nothing shows up and the page won’t scroll… I dunno everything just seems super glitchy.
Basically I just want to be able to have a simple shortcode to add to LearnDash lesson pages that displays either a PDF or MP3 icon, display the name of the file, and a little download button. Seems simple enough but for some reason the plugin doesn’t seem to be working. Am I missing something here?
Hi, I’ve been using this product for over a year, and I can’t get Google Analytics 4 to trigger a file_download event when a file is actually downloaded using your plugin.
I have Google Analytics set up correctly. I tried manually creating a link to a zip file on a page and downloading it and it triggered the file_download event immediately.
I would like to be able to track my file downloads from Google Analytics thank you very much for any help you could provide.
Topic: Counting of downloads
Dear Support-Team,
We have been using the free version on our websites for several years, and we would like to know which of our documents are the most important for our users. Therefore, I checked the number of downloads behind each document and the statistics in “History and Stats”.
But it seems to be wrong values:
In the following some examples:
1st example:
2023 = 335,162 downloads in total till now -> that seems more than unrealistic because we have never had so many events with our users in our website stats.2nd example:
2023, July 21st.: 470 downloads in total with very active users till midnight (nearly each minute something is downloaded from our pages)Also, countings are behind all documents we uploaded to the download manager.
In the following an example:
1) manual published on 29/08/2019 (nearly 3 years ago): was downloaded 45,045 times -> that would mean, on average, 41 downloads of this manual per day -> also a very unrealistic value and not comprehensible with our website statistics. As I understand from an earlier message in your support forum, the free version doesn’t support download counting. Is that right?
But in this case, why does the plugin show me wrong values instead of no values?
Nevertheless, anything is counting from your plugin because I can see the following downloads in the download manager stats:
Download Datum User IP Browser OS
Package 1 1 24. July 2023 12:59 Guest Unknown Google Chrome Unknown
Package 2 1 24. July 2023 12:55 Guest Unknown Google Chrome Unknown
Package 3 — 1 24. July 2023 12:52 Guest Unknown Google Chrome Unknown
Package 4 — 1 24. July 2023 12:51 Guest Unknown Google Chrome Unknown
Package 5 — 1 24. July 2023 12:51 Guest Unknown Google Chrome Unknown
Package 6 — 1 24. July 2023 12:47 Guest Unknown Google Chrome Unknown
Package 7 — 1 24. July 2023 12:46 Guest Unknown Google Chrome Unknown
Package 8 — 1 24. July 2023 12:46 Guest Unknown Google Chrome WindowsCan I trust any of these values?
Best regards,
KathleenCurrently running:
Download Manager Pro v6.3.5
WPDM – Amazon s3 v3.1.3Issue
Front End – When download links are clicked they just open a blank new window
Back End – Downloads > Amazon S3, Settings > Cloud Storage, and Download Package > Select from Amazon S3 all hang on the Loading screen without returning the list of buckets and filesTesting
Reverted WPDM – Amazon s3 to v3.0.3 which resolves the issue on Front End, HOWEVER issue on Back End remains.I have installed your addon to integrate WPDM into Elementor. (https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/download-manager-addons-for-elementor/)
I managed to create an Elementor theme for the individual downloads pages: https://pmo.administracaodotempo.com.br/download/swot/
But I’m not able to create element themes for download categories, all category pages are coming out with this unattractive layout: https://pmo.administracaodotempo.com.br/download-category/aquario/
And the subcategories of the categories do not appear.
I would like to know how I use your plugin addon to pull Download Manager categories and subcategories dynamically on Elementor pages.
can you help me?
Hi Download Manager Pro
We have a problem with our PDF preview function. Often the PDF is just loaded as code, and other times it just doesn’t load the window. We’ve been through the different support tickets regarding this problem, but haven’t been able to find a solution. An example of a page where this problem occurs is this: https://lyngdorf.steinwaylyngdorf.com/downloads/lyngdorf-tdai-2170-fact-sheet/ – it works from time to time, but it often fails.
WordPress, plugins, themes and addons to WPDM are all updated. We have already troubleshooter if the problem is caused by other plugins, but that doesn’t seem to be the case (it still occurs even though we disable everything else than WPDM).
Do you have any solution to this problem?
We have a system built where at the very least, we need Expired downloads to not show up in the packages list on the front end – as they are files that are no longer active or needed. Ideally the package itself would be moved to draft or trash, but even a query under the Elementor > Packages widget that says ‘remove expired packages’ would be okay.
Is this possible? Expired packages don’t have any sort of unique ID that I can use to hide with CSS.
Even if there was an Active / Expired category or tag – some way for an expired download to be hidden from the front end is needed! Thanks
as I’m using the sendiblue extension, all my transaction email are passing through sendinblue smtp.
I never receive any alert for downloadings I’m just using the email-lock system (and download notification).Thank you
