Well, WPDM integrated search option uses WordPress’s native search API. So, basically, it only searches for the title and description not the documents in the packages.

I think your file might be corrupted that’s why it’s not working.
Please try uploading and then downloading the below file. It’s opening in Photoshop properly without any error.
