    Hello,
The update will be ready within next week I hope.
However, You can use the [file_list_extended] template tag in the related template file which will create a downloadable image gallery and then use the package shortcode on your desired page.
Templates can be found under Downloads>Templates.
You will find template tag details in the below link.
    https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/template-tags/
    Thanks.

The File Browser Root setting is correctly set to “/home/fmgreece/public_html/alldownloads/”
I can’t see how this is relevant to the issue though.

I shared a screenshot in the above post, please check it. This is how the files appear after importing them from the WP Filebase import plugin.
The path gets a “/./” in it, which in command line means “the same directory”, but then when you try to download the file as a user, the system fails with “File not found”

Hello, I have imported all files from WP Filebase, using the WP Filebase import plugin.
The thing is that the file paths that are created in the system, cannot be recognized by the system.

Here is a path as is created by the import plugin “/home/fmgreece/public_html//./alldownloads/fm2020/graphics/kits/Greek-Football-League-by-Mysterio.rar”

    Check the image here

The path after all is somehow correct, if your run “cd /home/fmgreece/public_html//./alldownloads/fm2020/graphics/kits/” in command line, it translates to /home/fmgreece/public_html/alldownloads/fm2020/graphics/kits/Greek-Football-League-by-Mysterio.rar where the file really is. However Download Manager cannot understand it and when you try to download the file it gives a “Sorry! File not found!” error.

If I manually replace the filepath with “/home/fmgreece/public_html/alldownloads/fm2020/graphics/kits/” by editing the post, then it works. However this needs to be done for 500+ files, which is not productive.

    Any ideas?

I have recently bought WP Download Manager Pro but I cannot find how to setup the main page for my downloads.

I have read the docs section here but I am really confused.

Do I have to create this main page by myself using tags? And which tags?

To sum up, I would like to have a page like this automatically created with my existing categories:

    Hello Brian,
I have already found the issue while testing. Actually it is getting the updated free version of wpdm from wordpress free plugin directory. But as it is the pro version, it is showing not found. I think that is not a serious issue.
You can update WPDM from Downloads > Settings > Updates If you can’t update it directry from WordPress dashboard, You can update manually from here.
    Thanks

    We have the following problem.
    Our mp3 downloads,
that we host on Amazon s3, played automatically in Firefox.
Until recently, people were asked if they should be downloaded.
Everything is ok in Chrome – the mp3 is being downloaded.
What do we have to do so that the mp3 in firefox can also be downloaded again or that you are asked whether you want to download?
The Mp3 must not be played.
As mime type on S3 we use application / octet-stream or application / force-download (as an unknown mime type to force the download)

I just downloaded from the site and installed it again. It still has the same bug.
The problem with the file cart addon is that, it allows everyone to download items that only subscribed users should.
Even when not logged into the site, when you go to a package page and click on the file cart button, when you go to file cart page and click on DOWNLOAD, it actually downloads the file for the user, even when that user is not logged in. That is really not secure.
Thats the issue with the addon.

    Hello,
    Greetings for the day!
You can use [wpdm_category] shorcode with paging="1" which will hide pagination.
Shortcode details can be found in the below link.
    https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/wpdm_category-query-all-downloads-from-one-or-more-categories/
I hope that helps and answers your query.

On our website we want to display ALL the downloads for each category WITHOUT any pagination. Even if we specify <b>item_per_page=”30</b> the page is limited to 10 files and implements pagination. Can you please let me know how I can prevemt this from happening.

    Hi,
Since the update to 3.2.19 all my downloads are displaying ‘Your email address is blocked!’ when I’m logged in as an administrator. If I access the site site as a guest/visitor then I can download as usual.

    This is the FREE version.

I’ve been through the admin interface and can’t see why this would be. Just a bit worried this might be effecting visitors as well.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Tanvir,

I’ll try to explain it with an example.

I have the following sub-pages on my website:
    “Thriller” (Category 1)
    “Comedy” (Category 2)
    “Romance” (Category 3)
    “Musical” (Category 4).

On the respective subpage I would like to offer only the downloads from the respective category.
The user should be able to filter these again using tags (ideally visible using checkboxes).
for example, the tags “no age limit”, “FSK 6”, “FSK 12”, “FSK 16” and “FSK 18” should be given.
If the user selects the checkboxes “FSK 16” and “FSK 18” on the “Thriller” subpage, only these downloads should remain.

    Regards

I have 1924 Downloadable files on my website, I would like to disable them all and I am looking for a membership plugin to stop all users from raping my website of files.

I cannot seem to find a way to disable all downloads until I have sorted this out, or globally change the rights so that only admins can download for the minute, that way only I would be able to download files.

Is there a way to do this?

    Hello @solarmatic,
I am sorry the issue is not clear to me. Could you please elaborate the issue?
However, you can preselect category to specific user roles. To add both tag and category based packages, You can check the shortcode below:
    https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/wpdm_packages-wp_query-in-a-shortcode-for-download-manager-packages/

To add packages based on tags, you can use the below shortcode:
    https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/wpdm_tag-query-all-downloads-from-specified-tags/

    Let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks

I have WPForms installed on my website. But I don’t see all my WP Forms under the Form Lock option. I see only 5 forms in the drop down. How can I access the other forms that are linked with downloads?

    Hello,

I was wondering how from the front end I can add the same settings to my package that are available in the WordPress backend > Downloads > Add New Package?

I cannot find Package Settings, Lock Options, or Icons tabs from the FrontEnd Author Dashboard. The front end only allows me to add a package, description, files whereas adding a package from the backend WordPress dashboard allows me to do much more. How can I enable all features/settings to be present on the front end as well so that users do not need to go into the backend to add Package Settings, Lock Options or Icons?

    Hello @Webby-foot,
    Sorry for this inconvenience.
The mentioned shortcode is better for categories. I found that it is causing issues with tags.
However, Please use this shortcode for tag query. It will work fine for tags.

    Hello,

I’m having issues download manager 404ing when users click on a file’s link to the “Items Page”. Once clicked, it returns a “404 not found” but if the user instead clicks the “Download” button to the right of the file name within the category table, the file downloads just fine.

Also – this doesn’t only happen for existing files; if I try to create a new download, that page also 404’s right after creation.

Please see below for the category table talked about live / in action:
    https://midlandacs.org/board-committee-materials/

I’m also having an issue with one of the pre-provided templates – “Default Template w/Icon” It seems that no mater what I do, I can’t get the download button to be as small as it is within the preview window; so I had to switch to my current template “Call to Action 3”.

    Please help!

    Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding access permissions to downloads. Namely I have a site with different editor roles in the backend. But the files should basically be available in the frontend for all visitors of the site for free and without login. Now it is that when I am logged in as administrator on a file post, I can set the “Package Settings” window at the bottom to “All Visitors” with the “Allow Access” setting, thus allowing downloads for all visitors. If I am logged in with one of the editor roles, this “Package Settings” window unfortunately disappears and the setting cannot be made. Unfortunately, this also makes the files uploaded by editors not downloadable for normal users. Even if I duplicate and publish a file previously uploaded by the administrator with the setting “All Visitors” as editor, this Access setting is changed again, so that not all users can see the file.

Now here is my question/are my questions: is it possible

    (1) either set the default setting to “Allow Access” – “All Visitors”, no matter which editor uploads a new file in the backend

    (2) or can you tell me the necessary permission or capability I would have to enable via the permissions and roles system for the editors to see the “Package Settings” box in the backend?

I would be very grateful for quick help, as the problem is quite acute.
Thanks in advance for any tips!

    Kind regards
    Ronja

    Hello @noomia,

Hope you are well. If you have already created a package. Then you will also be able to upload/attach files for that package. If you have kept just the file name you should keep the files in wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files dir too. And for local files, you will not be able to attach files from the local PC drive directly.

After applying the previous codes, The JSON response looks like the following example:
