Hello all,

One of our customers would like to make various individualised documents available for download on the website. The documents should only be able to be downloaded by a single, defined user.

We use “Ultimate Member” for user management and as far as I know, we can already make documents available only to a certain user group with the free version of the “Download Manager”. But how can I implement this exclusively for individual users?

I imagine it like this: There is a global page accessible to all users with the title “Your downloads”. However, not all downloads are displayed here but only those that have been released for this one user.

Can you tell me whether this can be implemented with WPDM? Or if not, do you have any other ideas? I look forward to any tips!

I have a question about download links in WPDM,
I will have to change my OVH server to another one, and got aroung 6000 links on wordpress download manager that point to an external server starting with ns3xxx…
The problem is that i don’t want to update links one by one….

So decided to check how to in MySQL directly

1st attempt :
update wp_postmeta set meta_value = replace(meta_value, "ns37xxxxx.ip-213-32-0.eu/XXX", "ns30xxxxx.ip-149-202-85.eu/YYY");
It seems working when checking the URL in PhpMyadmin database as it changed correctly this part of the link, but when checking the WPDM link setting (attached file), it got empty… no more url of the file anymore. Dont understand why.

If i revert back the URL with the revert SQL command :
update wp_postmeta set meta_value = replace(meta_value, "ns30xxxxx.ip-149-202-85.eu/YYY", "ns37xxxxx.ip-213-32-0.eu/XXX");
The link setting is back to normal (not empty anymore) and working.

2nd attempt :
Last year i posted a message here about the same problem, someone wrote this script :

It was working great at this time, but not anymore, when using my website url with /change_url.php, got an error message on wordpress “Critical Error”

It’s getting really bad as in 2 weeks my old server will be offline and have to update all link to point to the new server.

Anyone know an easy way to replace a part of downloads links in SQL without the meta_value to become empty or plugin/script to do same?

It’s a Pro version related question, yet as a non-pro user I cannot post it on the Pro forum. Anyway…

I’m thinking about buying Download Manager Pro Plugin and while playing with the demo I came accross the ‘Subscribers’ section of the plugin. The free version does not include that section, but at the same time “Demo includes a few add-ons and the Special Pack covers everything in the demo”. Does this section come with DM Pro, or is it one of the addons from the Special Pack?

There is also an Opt-in Magic plugin in your store and I was wondering if Download Manager Pro + Opt-in magic can do this:
I want to build a newsletter subscriber’s list by using Opt-In Magic and in addittion all the subscribers will have a free access to downloads (by using the email lock) feature of Download Manager Pro. I do not want my subscribers to login using login/password to gain access to those downloads, but only to enter their email address and if it’s in my database allow them do download. Will this pair of plugin be able to do that? Or maybe Pro version is enough for that purpose?

I only want users to see the downloads they have uploaded. The rest will be displayed on the front end. I DO NOT want to have to set individual packages as this wont work.
