Hi,
you need to:
1) deactivate and delete free version
2) install and activate pro version
3) Download and install copy to pro add-on from here http://wpdownloadmanager.com/download/copy-to-pro/ , the add-on will help you to copy files from free version to pro version
4) To copy free version files go to wp-admin Downloads Settings Copy to premium tab ….Hi, Please view all my recent downloads (my.dt-croatia-dot-com They download OK, but none of the files can be opened?? I get following Erros for each individual file type;
ZIP, cannot open compressed file folder: C:\useres\etc…!
PDF, there was an error opening this document, the file is damaged and could not be repaired!
WMV, Windows Media player cannot C:\useres\etc…!
PPS, Powerpoint cannot read C:\useres\etc…!Besides this, when in /downloads/Free-downloads/I cannot find out why some (file type) icons show properly and some do NOT? Where can I get more Icons?
I also do not know how to setup the Add dir from Server & Add File(s) from Server. The site will be moved to a dedicated File server this weekend, and I need to know how to set this up? To make things easier on the long run, what is better? To upload packages from PC, or from Server??

I’ve modified the file download-page.php, where is located the loop to create the table with all the files inside the package. I’ve add this:
$file[‘files’] = maybe_unserialize($file[files]);
rsort ($file[‘files’]);But this hasn’t resolved my problem. Now the Name of all files are in reverse order (highest to lowest), but the links with the downloads, are still in the normal order.

Hi there! Loving the plugin so far.
I would like to turn off pagination in order to allow more than the default number of entries on the archive. The current number appears to be 10.
If you go here (www.ooicorp.org/oceanoptics/home/resources/downloads), scroll down and click the tab that says OmniDriver, you’ll see what I mean.
The listing (or archive) is paginated after 10 entries. I’d like to get rid of that entirely.
Is there something in the style sheet or is there a setting in the DM dashboard to look for? I’ve scoured it and couldn’t find it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I have just upgraded from the free version to the Pro Version. Before I install it into my site I just need to check – how do I ensure I don’t lose all the downloads I have already created? Can I import them into the Pro version? Just need to know as it is a big site and am worried that I will lose all the existing download links. is it a straight upgrade? Cheers Chris
Topic: Downloads no longer Working
Hi. I installed this plugin several days ago and got it working fine, but suddenly my customers are complaining that the downloads are no longer working. Sure enough, I logged in to test them and I’m getting an error message. On Safari it says, ‘decompression failed’ and on Firefox the download ends after ‘0’ bytes. This is the case for all my my files.
Can you please help?
PARTIALLY SOLVED:
I’ve upgrade WP to 3.4.1 and now it looked like it was working…(no more HTTP 500 error or clear JS conflict)
BUT
Page/articles editor doesn’t show content (title and body)…like font color was WHITE (!)…if you select (CTRL + A) title/body field you can still see text. Further more you can’t switch between Visual/HTML view (maybe js issue…).
Final problem: when I add a package, after press “create package” button I get a blank page with this line written: {“result”:”success”,”id”:2}
PLEASE HELP!!!
UPDATE:
I’ve found that there’s a several conflict with “Admin Menu Editor” plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/admin-menu-editor/), so I disable it. (Anyway I’d apreciate if you could resolve this conflict)
Anyway, something is still broken: I’ve tried to reinstall several time the plugin (uploading the zip) but it seems like there’s some problem with JS:
– the “Downloads” menu (WPDM) appears automatically expanded every time I log into WP control panel
– cliking on any JS standard link on the WP standard admin page (e.g. “Help” or “Screen options” or the “Hello, ” link on top right of the page) anything happens
– I can’t “save” options (e.g. i wanted to insert my serial key number and save it)
– I can’t browse files on my pc clicking on “Browse” button while trying to add a new package
– still getting HTTP 500 error while trying to access to “Manage packages” menu option, the “plugins/download-manager” folder has 777 permissionsURGENT!!! PLEASE HELP!!
I’ve just purchased PRO version (3.3.2), I’m working with WP 3.2.1 and PHP 5.2.6.
After installed WPDM 3.3.2 plugin , when I try to access to “Downloads” section from the wp admin menu on the left I get an HTTP 500 error, so I can’t use the plugin.
I installed the plugin using the zip file I downloaded after purchasing. I’ve also tried (after getting the error the first time) to change permissions to “plugins/download-manager” folder to 777 and 775, but nothing changes.
The page WP is trying to load is http://www.netstudio.it/wp-admin/admin.php?page=file-manager.
PLEASE HELP!!!
Topic: Link changes in FF
After a lot of frustration I decide to upload each file as a package so I could offer downloads for single files. Working in Chrome, I uploaded the files, put each file-package into a page (more than on a page). For each package I have activated the email lock which requires the visitor give up their email address. In addition I am asking for their name. Start testing and all was working well until I tested it in FF. In FF the download link is render as a Login link instead of download. The same thing is true of IE8.

I am having the same problem. SInce the upgrade to 3.3.3 Download Manager has moved up the menu order and replaces the Events tab that is used for the All-in One Calendar. Is there somewhere where i change the position of the Downloads Tab?

Currently I have 8 downloads and the plugin works very well.
But: Recently I used google site:mydomain and it showed up that there were 8 sites whith urls like this:

http://www.videoschnittlauch.de/?download=8So the problem is I dont want these sites to appear in the serps so I want to add a noindex meta tag. But unfortunately I don’t have acces to the sites. `Where are they stored and how can I add meta tags to them?

Is there a way to hide the id of the package from the page code when the stock limit is exhausted?
Because although the message , “download limit exceeded” will show, the id of the package will still be visible in the page code, allowing the user to get to the file by typing in the “?wpdmdl=id #” url.
Another way would be to disable all downloads of the package through any method when limit is exceeded in any way.
Is either way possible through code editing or otherwise?

I’m trying to do something really simple with your Download Manager that I purchased:
– Upload file into WordPress to be downloaded by Web visitors.
– Upload custom ‘Download Here’ Image onto home page (see http://www.brainsarefun.com for example)
– Create a URL that attaches to this image, so that when clicked it simply downloads the file (right now it goes to Dropbox, ugh!).
– Counts the number of clicks/downloads, base reporting functionality.Later, I would love to be able to add functionality to this, i.e. email lock, etc. But for now all I need is this simple functionality.
Does your product allow for this? Or can you otherwise help? Seems like the TinyMCE button should accomplish this, but I don’t see it in my CKE editor, and from what I understand doesn’t allow this anyway. Or does it?

I think you received right add-on, after install and activate, it will add new meta box with your add/edit package window to setting up price and new settings tab “Premium Files” under wp-admin downloads settings page, from there you can setup paypal and discount option.In reply to: 'undefined' message
Not really sure what happened, but my site was no longer working. Strangely after working out how to get my site back up, I am no longer getting the ‘undefined’ message and the downloads are working.

Hi. Just installed the free version. From the screenshots I’ve seen, I should have a “Downloads” section added to the left column of my admin panel. I don’t. What am I missing? I DO have an icon in my editor to insert a collection or category, but no way to create one. Thanks for any assistance.

Is it possible to list downloads filtered by more than one category? For example, I have lots of products, and information about these products separates down into types of information. E.g. I have “technical updates”, “version information” “brochures” and “marketing material”.
Can I create a shortcode that allows me to select a category for the product, and then the category for the type of information?
E.g. : [wpdm_category id=product1 category id=brochures]
Also, just to check – what does the pro version actually include? I’ve tried to use [wpdm-archive] and [wpdm-categories] in a page but all that happens is the shortcode is displayed – is this an addon I need to get?

AngelaI am new to Download Manager. I installed it and had it working perfectly, then it just stopped. The problem I am having is that when I click on the download link to show the content of a package for “individual download” in the package list format, it stays on “loading…. ” forever. maybe this is an easy fix. please take a look at what I am talking about.
