We had been working on our website in a staging environment, and all was working fine. We migrated the site over to our production server by simply copying over all WordPress and associated upload folders, including our Download Manager Pro directory, and importing a copy of our database.
We have the website running on our new server, however all of our DM packages no longer have their corresponding audio files attached. We do not get prompted to reactivate our License key, but should we get it unlocked? Or is there something else in the configuration that we need to change or re-enable? Or will we need to re-attach all of our audio files?
Please advise
Hello
I have recently purchased Download Manager Pro. Firstly, the support documentation needs a little help, it’s almost non-existent.
I could do with some help please;
1. I would like the user to stay on the page with the shortcode – so that they are not taken to a new page and the downloads are available there. Is this possible?
2. Next, if a user enters an incorrect password it just says wrong password and the user isn’t sure what to do next (they need to click on ‘Worng Password!’. There needs to be a ‘try again’ link or something.
3. If the password is correct, then the user needs to know and be presented with something more suitable, i.e. Please download your documents
4. After they have saved the document the same dialogue box stays on the screen with the download link. It needs to be hidden.
Without sensible notifications and a bit of clarity it’s clunky and somewhat unusable.
I’ve searched YouTube for a video on how to use the product, only to find an old video which doesn’t really bear any relation.
Also, in my downloads for the product there were other .zip files (expo, wpdm-m24x, and previous versions of the manager – there appears to be no explanation as to what these are.
Just a little help please. Is it possible to change button messages etc.?
Is there a help guide or video?
Thank you!!
Hi there,
We are planning to move our website to a vps. I started to do some testing with the database and all that stuff, and after changing the absolute path from the downloads, the name of all packages are gone. The only way to keep the names of packages and the downloads inside them is to keep everything as before, and that’s not possible because that path on the metafields is not linked correctly.
Besides, I keep my downloads outside from our wordpress folder. It’s better for me, because I work with developed and production website at the same time, and they share the downloads:
/
/images —> Images are here.
/downloads —> Files are here.
/wordpress-folder —> http://www.mydomain.com
/dev-folder —> dev.mydomain.com
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
We use the download manger to manage all of our downloads.
Users are having issues finding documents through the search feature.
Is there a possibility for a developer there to improve this for us?
Please get back to me as soon as you can with options and pricing.
Thank you,

Hi I just tried to renew my order – its not showing up and all my downloads are completely gone!!!
What do I do?
For a client we developed a downloads page with a MailChimp add-on. The downloaders receive a download confirmation email and are automatically added to a subcription list. They should NOT get an email confirming they are on the subscribers list, but they do.. although in Mailchimp that option is disabled/unchecked.
How can we make sure the downloader does NOT get a subscription confirmation email?!?
Hey,
Just purchased the pro version after having used the free plugin for a while.
I have run into two issues:
#1. I cannot get this table to work right on my website:
http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/all-downloads/
As you can see in the screenshot, something is going wrong with the title column in the table – its also placing a huge margin above and below the table for some reason as well…
Also, how do you place that download button in the table the same as in your demo website I linked above?
The shortcode I am currently using is:
[wpdm-all-packages items_per_page="20" jstable=1]
#2. I want to completely disable the option for users of the plugin to get access to the server. This should not be possible anywhere using the plugin. How do I do this?
Login details in next private post.
Thanks.
I have WPDM set to hide all files, if the user does not have permission to view them. I am then setting the CAL to add a specific user to view a file, but the file does not show on their page.
I need to be able to only show a file if a specific user has permissions.
I’m using single mp3s in each package to allow music downloads. It is important that we count the downloads. The problem I’m having is that when I click on the package link to show the page with the mp3 preview it loads the file and counts it as a download.
Hi,
on our clients site we need to set up WPDownloadManager completely new after a crash.
Now we got it all but the download buttons are just not working.
Try by your selfe here > http://www.divia.de/divia-downloads/
It’s just linking to this URL > http://www.divia.de/download/social-media-navigator/#pkg_5274

I had the free version installed, and this morning upgraded to Pro so that I can see download stats. In the download package, the only plugin that would install correctly was “wpdm-m24x.zip”. The three other files in the download (download-manager-3.3.8.zip, download-manager-4.1.4.zip and expo.zip) would not install. However, the plugin seemed to be working ok, as long as I kept the original free plugin activated. Please advise if there was something I should have done differently.
According to the documentation, that stats should appear under the “downloads” section of my dashboard. But my dashboard does not have “downloads” listed. I can’t seem to find the stats under any of the choices. Screenshots of my dashboard and also my plugins page attached.
I am a novice and WordPress and plugins, so please be gentle! Any help is appreciated. ๐
