Thank you, it works now for this document. Unfortunately it still is now for a lot of the other downloads. Do I now have to manually adjust each object individually? Is there no global setting? Why is this all of a sudden? Because some time ago everything worked?
Many greetings,
Andreas
I have narrowed it down to the [download_link] shortcode. If I update that shortcode in my template to [download_link_extended] the form works and downloads correctly, however, I do not want that extended information always showing. I also don’t know how to troubleshoot the [download_link] shortcode.
I tested other templates (yours not custom) and all the ones with [download_link] cause the problem for me.
Plugin is the same version I have installed v3.03 , I reinstalled and the tree shortcode worked, but my original problem is still there, sorting doesn’t work. If I add the shortcode for “top downloads” it sorts alphabetically, then if I change the sort in the toolbar to downloads it gives me “page not found”.
Hello @lucatortuga,
Glad to hear that your issue has been resolved.
You will find the shortcode details in the below link.
[wpdm_all_packages] – List all downloads in tabular format in a page
However, If you get some free moments, please give us a 5* here and add your valuable review about our plugin, it will inspire us a lot.
Best Regards
Hi, is there a way for users to report a download link for example is broken? We have 100’s of downloads on our site & sometimes a link no longer works. At present I check them manually, however if users could report an issue with a download that would be perfect.

Hello,
We have a issue with our new category “can-art” not showing up in the category view. https://3dbrewing.com/downloads/ They do exist as I see them here https://3dbrewing.com/downloads/can-art/
I have tried everything and updated all WPDM related plugins. Can you help?
thank you.
Hi there,
I would like to make some changes;
1. How to open the downloads in a new tab. After update to version 6.0.7 of the plugin I’ve checked the select box ‘Open in new tab’. But downloads are not opening in a new tab. How to fix this?
2. On the archive page with the list of downloads (with on top a search box and on the left a sidebar with categorie, tag and date filters) I would like to rearrange the box ‘Search on date’ and the box ‘Tags’. So instead of ‘Categories’-‘Date’-‘Tags’ I would like to have ‘Categories’-‘Tags’-‘Date’. How to fix this or where can I find the PHP-file of this page?
3. How to disable the extra password function for the individual files when adding these files on the ‘Add new package’ page?
4. I would like to set all downloads automatic available for all logged in users. Now I have to first select a specific user role first (via Package Setting) before the download is available. How to automatically assign the downloads to a user role? I’ve tried to ad user roles to the categories but it’s not working this way.
5. Is there any way to add an ‘Edit’ button on the download page of a package in the front-end? (via Page Templates for ex.?) Now if I would like to edit a package I have to go back and search for the package in the list first.
Thank you in advance!

Simple task, wanting to show a page of most popular downloads. Tried adding via shortcodes, via the TinyMCE. Totally ignores link template, and layout looked awful. Decided to try via Gutenberg added packages, sorted by download count. Numbers go something like 100, 75, 80, 95,63 etc
At first I thought it’s because WPDM resources are only loaded on the download areas, so I enabled them for the post in question, made no difference.
I had the same issue after one of the last upgrades. The following helped in my case:
– go to Downloads > Settings > Privacy
– click “clear all cache”.
– now it worked again
If not, try the other setting under “Temporary Storage Management” > “Store in Database”.
This hint comes from here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/invalid-download-link-3/

Hi Humayon,
I already have the plugin I need installed and viewable on my Plugins page, that is how I did it from the start. The Advanced Access plugin has stopped working. I have other add-ons installed and those seem to be working fine. We noticed this issue 3 days ago and had done no site updates or other plugin updates to initiate this. When I logged in to check the issue, I found that specifically the functions for Advanced Access were not available. I then tried to do the “Install” option from the Settings > Updates page. So my point is that this issue came prior to trying to auto-install. I was already in place, I was already using the functions to assign downloads to specific users. Please advise.
We have a user, who created an account for themselves yesterday morning, that has been crawling through essentially the entire website. I’ve included several screenshots I took to try to illustrate my concerns.
In the screenshot viewingDownloads.png, the user is looking at download posts that I had thought would be tough to find, given the individual names in the download posts. Also, since we removed the ability to arrow pan through the download posts. What possible methods are they using to crawl through like this? Just a “simple” spider?
In the screenshot downloading.png, the user was actually able to download VSim and RSim from a couple different download posts that they should not have had access to. Part of the reason the user was able to download on those posts, is that they were locked to subscribers only, which is the default for any newly created account, not a specific individual account.
However, what’s weird, is that the download availability window was long past. I’ve included DownloadExpiration.png, which is Kanno_RSim3.0.1.
The Kanno_RSim3.0.1 download post for instance, says the download availability period is from August 9th to August 17th. Yet the user was able to download from that post on September 1st?
What needs to be changed to prevent this from happening in the future?
In Summary:
1. How was the user able to access the posts on the site and get to the downloads?
2. Why were they able to download past end date set?
3. How do we fix this

On the page https://fenrisd.com/api-documentation we are trying to allow users to select multiple downloads then be brought to a confirmation page after hitting submit then after this confirmation page has been loaded the download(s) of the selected files will start. Currently we are using conditional logic on this gravity form to redirect to a download link for each checkbox option.
Is there a way to allow users to download multiple files after loading a confirmation page using this extension with gravity forms?

I’ve got the same issue, let me know if I should start another thread.
When I click the link to a download, it properly loads the Page Template and Link Template on a wordpress page (https://mysite.com/downloads/download-page-01), but the wpdownloadmanager content is wrapped in the default wordpress post template. I don’t see anywhere in the wpdownloadmanager settings to specify the actual wordpress post template that’s applied to each download package/page. See html output below, my theme is dropping your content into a wordpress post template, inside the post-content div. I would like to be able to select the wordpress post template applied to each download package/page, see below, my default wordpress template is named “td-post-template-default”, but I have several other templates I’d prefer to use.
*Edit – I’m not looking for widget shortcodes, they work fine but I need all pages to be applied to a different post template if that makes sense
<div class="td-container td-post-template-default ">
<div class="td-pb-row">
<div class="td-pb-span12 td-main-content" role="main">
