Another thing you could do is ,if you upload the file from the media library it would be helpful for SEO, but then Download Manager may not have control over the files.

In Download Manager Pro there is a feature which allows you to Skip Lock for Logged in User , here is the screenshot
This feature is not available in free version. I would recommend you to go for the pro version of the plugin.

The sidebar is controlled by your theme. So you will need to ask your theme developer how the sidebar can be hidden, or you may use this plugin, Content Aware Sidebar to hide the sidebar from your desired pages.
