Sorry for this inconvenience.
It is an api function which keeps connection with wpdm server. It is one of the functions which you see in Downloads > settings > Updates
It is from download-manager/src/admin/Menu/settings.php
I will suggest not to delete because if you delete you will face problem updating the plugins and addons from that option. Also if you keep it deleted, it will return as soon as you update the plugin and addons. I see it is not autoloaded. It is better.

Make sure that WPDM and all add-ons you are using of WPDM are in the latest version. If you can’t update it directry from WordPress dashboard, Please update from here.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned functionality, you have to use the WPDM Pro plugin and the below add-on.

I am sorry I haven’t found any issue from WPDM. Realized that the pages preload first time in browser which is taking the time. But after the loading, everything is okay. Also tested it multiple times, Disabling some plugins made it load faster. After this update of WPDM we haven’t received any complain about the slower issue also didn’t receive any slowness complain with this shortcode before. So I think there could be other reasons on your site.

Also I have checked and haven’t found any php/js errors of wpdm. I have realized only WPDM is not the reason of the slowness. Please take other measures.

Got the issue.
You are using a direct download link which is not ssl protected that mean that link is not https . It is causing the issue in mozilla firefox. Make sure all links of your website gets https.
If your site doesn’t make every page https, The solution lies only in firefox setting
However wpdm doesn’t use direct download link. You can check it by making packages or check the demo
In this case, You can set output buffering option disable to check it may solve the issue.

I suggest you visit the links and then make PDF of those using the ctrl+p button while on the page on browser. Then you can upload the pdf files as downloads.
or another suggestion you can copy/paste links in .txt file and then make those as downloadable files.
Then you can show like a list using this shortcode
If you just want to make link, it doesn’t need wpdm. you can make a html button and link there.

The links are not in a translatable string.
I have set the shortcode like this [wpdm_login_form redirect="https://aloetteeduddev.wpengine.com/es-us/account/dashboard/"] for the translated login pages. Thus it will redirect users directly to the translated login pages.
By the way to change the logout links too, it needs some template modifications because that logout link is getting directly from php file. I would suggest you not to change that only for links. you can set a universal page or homepage after logout.
