The license is valid for lifetime, but premium support and updates expire after 1 year. If you are using very old version, the license key may not work due to our recent security upgrade in our license server,  you need to update to latest version,  if you don’t want to update please give me temporary wp-admin login info in a private reply, I shall add manual validation there for you.

Actually, the addon doesn’t reset the limit when you change role, but that is not a bug with the addon.

It was opening in the browser, as “Open in browser” option was check, I’ve unchecked and saved settings. Not it is downloading.

That is not a security issue, if you want visitors to signup, you must enable signup, however, wpdm signup form has the option to enable/disable captcha and email verification. Doc:

The icon can’t be linked in that way. Also, there is no option to change that text, however, we shall use a template for that form with next update of the plugin so that, it can be customized easily.

Actually, that is a core feature of WordPress Download Manager and fully functional. However, I also tested again here, it is working fine. However, if you may show the issue in our demo http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/, I shall check it there again.

Please download the latest version from premium download area ( https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/purchases/ ), deactivate and delete old version ( The process will not harm any of your data ), install and activate the latest version. From next update, you will be able to update the plugin in 1 click from wp admin plugins page, as we have implemented WordPress’s native plugin update routine.

However, if you still need our help with update, please give me temporary wp-admin login info in a private reply, we shall update it there for you.
