For the free plugin you can update automatically by updating option but for the premium you have to save license key first.

It needs some customization.

$cpage['orderby'] = 'title';
$cpage['order'] = 'ASC';

in taxonomy-wpdmcategory.php file in download-manger > tpls.you can put between this code

$cpage['toolbar'] = (int)$cpage['heading'];
 $cpage['async'] = 1;

Please check if there correct license key in your Downloads > Settings > License option. and save settings again. Then try again to update. It will work then.

I think you are trying to add tag search with category shortcode page, but it is not possible with the category shortcode for now.
