You can restrict download by role using free version too. When you are creating a new package you can “Allow Access” to the packages in the Package settings tab.
You can also allow access by user role to the packages under a category from download category management.
You can also check our Advanced Access Control ► https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-access-control/ add-on will help you to control user specific access to your files and document downloads.

Hi, you can try with any breadcrumb plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/breadcrumb-navxt/ and then select The hierarchy as category from their settings. Hope this can solve your problem.

User ID column 0 means user who downloaded are not logged in user. He is anonymous so no ID for the visitor in DB, which marked as 0 in the user id column.

@john From my part, I can login to update area of setting from dashboard using login info, no problem. You may check with updating/re-installing the plugin if it can resolve the issue.
