1. The email lock form button label and download button link label is different, the default email lock form button label is “Submit”, user can change it using the following code:
add_filter("wpdm_email_lock_form_button_label", function($label, $package) { return "Download Now"; }, 10, 2);

2. Well, wpdm_tag is only for tags is wpdm_category is only for categories, to filter by both, you may try using wpdm_packages shortcode instead.

For updating the WPDM plugin, Please simply click the Save Settings again for the license key option from Downloads > Settings > License, and then please update the plugin from the wp-admin > plugins panel.

For saving settings again for the license key option from Downloads > Settings > License, that will regenerate the access token. Thus the plugin will be updated, hope that, it will solve your issue.

If still, the problem exists then you can manually update the plugin and the settings will not be removed.

First, can you please try one more time after deactivating and reactivating the WPDM plugin to check?

If the problem still exists then, I’d request you to check whether there are any plugins installed that might be causing this.

Here is what you can do to check:

1. Please try switching to another theme, like Twenty Twenty-one, and check whether the issue persists or not. If not, then it is the theme that is causing the error.

2. Deactivate all plugins temporarily except WPDM and see if that solves the problem. Then, activate the plugins one by one to see which plugin is causing the problem.

​3. Try one more time after clearing your browser, website, and CDN caches if you have any. You may temporarily disable the caching plugin for testing.

Please let me know how that goes. I will be happy to help with any further assistance you might need.
