its because of your theme.
use link template = “Link Template Embedded” and
page template =”Single Column, Image Top, Extended”

or create page/link template with tag [download_link_extended] instead of [download_link]

please ask gravity form dev to adjust it. actually nothing to do with wpdm pro. may be it will be in their final release of 1.7

actually you even never need to worry with preview image, as you want to show it or not, you can control it from page or link template, you need to remove [thumb ..] tag from current page or link template or create a new page or link template without [thumb …] tag

try using page template = “Single Column, Image Top, Extended” and link template = “Link Template Embedded”

it will not work yet, copy image url from media manage and use there, but it will be ok with next update. Anyhow that feature is not fully active yet

actually next update will have an option for disabling bootstrap from admin settings, and you already can apply template in wpdm pro, create link/template with custom class name and add styles for those class in theme css, in that way updating wpdm pro will not erase your css change.
