If you already have v7.5.6, auto-update should work fine.

1. Download the latest version of the plugin ZIP file from your WPDM account ( this page ).
2. Go to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.Navigate to Plugins -> Add New Plugin.
3. Click on the Upload Plugin button at the top.
4. Choose the downloaded WPDM ZIP file and click Install Now.
5. WordPress will let you know that the plugin is already installed and show your current vs. uploaded version numbers. Click the Replace current with uploaded.
6. On need, copy license key from here and apply it again.
7. From next update auto-update will work fine again.

The issue was happening because your server was not supporting HTML data with POST requests and blocking any POST requests with HTML data. Now I’ve used plain text “Login Required Message:” and “Download Limit Message:” options, and saving settings is working fine.

Don’t worry about them; they are encrypted temporary files. Also, no sensitive data is stored there.

I found a non-ASCII character preceding “title” due to incorrect file encoding while investigating the issue.

For icon fix, add the following CSS in your theme customizer’s custom styles:

You can select WPDM’s color from WPDM’s user interface settings; there, you can select the same color as your theme’s color accent.
