For the time being you can follow the link below documentation,
by default, you are using
link-template-default.phpfor link template andpage-template-default.phpfor the page template. As documentation, you have to copy the file in the theme directory naming a folder calleddownload-manager, then paste it inpage-templatesfor page template orlink-templatesfor link template. And you have to replace[download_link]with<a href="[download_url]" class="btn btn-primary" target="_blank">[link_label]</a>in related PHP file.let me know, if those help you.

Same with others posted on this forum, the download links don’t work after the update, simply no response after clicking the link, please help. Thanks!

Hi,
Since last Yesterday actualisation, downloads via shortcode ([wpdm_package id='42428']) doesn’t work, the link on download button refers to the download page, not to the file.
Any fast solution?

Thanks for the response. I’ve just tried deactivating and deleting as you’ve suggested, then installing the latest version, but am still having exactly the same issue with the download buttons no longer working in the new version. Example button shortcode is [wpdm_package id=1134 template="link-template-default-ext.php"]
I’ve reverted back to 3.0.97 again. Any other suggestions to identify/fix this issue?
This is worse than I thought
I changed my site-wide link template code to use [download_url] instead of [download_link]. I then had to re-save over 100 download files because changing the template will only change new download files (really?).
Now, it works in chrome – but is broken for Microsoft Edge and Firefox.It seems you changed the download links to use ‘data-downloadurl’ rather than ‘href’, but you’ve not implemenmted it properly, and now everything is broken

now I had to downgrade to version 5.0.94
Otherwise the links to the files will not work.Please help me

I have the same problem. I have been using download manager pro in a large professional site since february. After updating to the latest version this morning, download link buttons are no longer working in chrome (but do work in microsoft edge)

Hi again, I’ve reverted to a site backup running version 3.0.97 of WPDM and the downloads are working again on this version. Is there something I need to do before updating to 3.1.0 to make sure the buttons/links don’t break?
Hi! We’ve been using WPDM for a few years now and no problems but the download link buttons have stopped working recently (not linking to any files) and I cannot figure out why. Any ideas or suggestions to fix this?
I am a having a couple issues with a some addons that I can’t seem to get figured out.
1. File Cart – when attempting to download all files in the cart, the download button does not work. It links to a page full of code. Same thing for when emailing a file cart, the download links to the not found code page.
2. Package Lists – When I place the shortcode on the page, nothing appears.
3. The categories in the table on the homepage don’t actually link to the respective category page. I can’t seem to get that figured out either.In addition, is it possible/is there a way to rename “Package” and “Packages” to “Resource” and “Resources” throughout the entire website?
Packages Tables are correctly composed and the HTML “A” code have a “data-downloadurl” parameter with a valid link, but buttons click are not working (tried on Safari and Chrome)
Seems to be a JS problem but i’m unable to debug it.

Topic: How to autoplay MP3 files
Is there a way to have MP3 files autoplay when a user clicks on a link and the page loads? Currently, the page loads with the download information along with a download button and a play button but we need the file to autoplay when the page loads. Thank you for helping.
I have created a clone of the default link extended template and added some css, no changes to any of the code.
The categories display shows my downloads and all the info correctly but when I click on the download button for any of the downloads, it doesn’t actually download the file, instead the link is only for a #, so the button doesn’t do anything. I checked the code and it is correct:<div><strong>[download_link_extended]</strong></div>so why isnt it downloading the file that is uploaded to each of the packages?
I was having problems with my download links and category trees. The posts and pages I had the codes on were telling me they needed to be debugged so I updated to 5.1.1. Now all my custom templates are missing. Please help!

for template files they must be in child-theme/download-manager/link-templates or child-theme/download-manager/page-templates (you have to remove tpls folder)
for opening link in a new window check the first replySo I tried to follow the template instructions I’ve seen in the forums, but it isn’t working for me.
