    Hi – today I updated to 5.2.3, and all [download_link] references in my templates are no longer working. Instead of downloading the file, they redirect to the page with “#” at the end of the link.

    I have also updated the extended short-codes add-on to 2.8.6, but still not working.

    I have this issue on two websites.

    Any help is appreciated.

    I went into settings and it says:

    When user is not allowed to download: Hide Everything
    And I changed it to “Only Block Download Link”.
    And all the files showed up again.

    And I can download them and play them in the browser, even when I’m not logged in as admin.

    Was that the right fix?

    Thanks! Hope you are well!

    Hello,

    Have you modified the single-wpdmpro.php file? I can’t able to see the download link of the packages. However dashboard interface is working now, I have enabled Bootstrap CSS from settings.

    Thanks.

    Have you set Email Download Link to those packages? please share the package URL and if possible, please, give your temporary wp-admin login details in a private reply for checking the issue.

    Thanks.

    After a user has logged in, I would like them to be able to simply download from a list of files.
    See below:

    Login to download

    However, an authenticated user is being prompted to “Login to Download” instead of seeing a link to download.

    If the user has already logged in, why are they seeing this?

    Also when clicking “Login to download” the page just reloads

    I am really just trying to create a simple list of categorized files to direct download to authorized users. However logged in users are being prompted to login using the [download_link]. When left as [page_link] it loads a second (unnecessary page) where the user is allowed to download the file.

    Categorized list requiring login

    Custom link template:

    [title][description]
    <div class="link-template-default card mb-2">
        <div class="card-body">
            <div class="media">
                <div class="mr-3 img-48">[icon]</div>
                <div class="media-body">
                    <h3 class="package-title">[download_link]</h3>
                    <div class="text-muted text-small"><i class="fas fa-copy"></i> [file_count] [txt=file(s)] <i class="fas fa-hdd ml-3"></i> [file_size]</div>
                </div>
                <div class="ml-3">
                </div>
            </div>
        </div>
    </div>

    Any help is greatly appreicated

    Hello,
    I’ve been getting an error repeatedly in plugin page in WordPress every time I tried to upgrade DMP in the usual manner. Here is the error message:

    Update failed: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

    So I went on the forum and found the following instructions:

    1 ) Deactivate and delete the old version. You won’t lose any data.
    2 ) Download latest version from here https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/user-dashboard/?udb_page=purchases
    3 ) Use a good file manager or FTP or asset manager option for uploading the plugin zip
    4 ) Extract it in your plugins folder and activate from the plugins dashboard menu panel

    The first time, I followed them and they worked great. However, our download page kind of broke. The display format changed dramatically, with the listings forced into three columns. After a lot of looking around, I added a cols=”1″ to the shortcode and that fixed the problem.

    However, about a week later, there was another update your plugin (5.2.2 I think). I attempted through the WP plugin page to update to the new version…and same error:

    Update failed: The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

    I followed the instructions above and again, they worked fine.
    However, now our download page is broken again, but this time it is worse. There are no downloads listed. Instead, all the categories are just laid out in one continuous list and the rest of the page is completely blank. Also it breaks the entire navigation menu at the top of the site (it doesn’t show up at all). Here is the shortcode that I am using:

    [wpdm-archive cat_view=”default” button_style=”default” showcount=0 link_template=”5c830ecaed300″ items_per_page=”30″ order_by=”date” order=”desc” login=1]

    Please let me know what I am doing wrong and maybe how to fix this seemingly ongoing issue.
    Thanks!

    I was getting the same error. This is the second time I’ve had to do this process. The last time I did it, it broke our download page and I had to modify the shortcode to get it to work correctly.

    I just did the process again (I uploaded via FTP and it seemed to go fine) and it “worked” but once again our download page is completely broken. This time it is broken in a different way. There are no downloads listed and none of the categories seems to work. Also the page looks quite different. Can you provide some advice?

    Here is the shortcode that I am using:

    [wpdm-archive cat_view=”default” button_style=”default” showcount=0 link_template=”5c830ecaed300″ items_per_page=”30″ order_by=”date” order=”desc” login=1]

    Download Manager is 5.2.2.
    WPDM Archive page is 3.1.1

    Thanks for any help!

    The download link is working and your site sometimes showing this error as I image attached,

    I think you are trying to enable multiple locks at the same time, but that is not possible, use single lock for any single package.

    Thanks.

    After plugin update, issue reappear.

    — HERE IS A FUNCTIONAL AND TEMPORARILY FIX FOR USERS —
    I have to put the “.php” extension in the shortcode template tag to it works as follow :
    [wpdm_category ... template="link-template-default-ext.php" ...]
    — END OF FIX —

    I think there is something not optimised in this part of code :
    wp-content/plugins/download-manager/libs/class.Package.php from line 1060

    $ltpldir = get_stylesheet_directory().'/download-manager/'.$type.'-templates/';
    $pthemeltpldir = get_template_directory().'/download-manager/'.$type.'-templates/';

    if(!file_exists($ltpldir) || !file_exists($ltpldir.$template))
        $ltpldir = WPDM_BASE_DIR.'tpls/'.$type.'-templates/';

    if (file_exists($ltpldir . $template)) $template = file_get_contents($ltpldir . $template);
    else if (file_exists($pthemeltpldir . '/' . $template)) $template = file_get_contents($pthemeltpldir . '/' . $template);
    else if (file_exists($ltpldir . $template . '.php')) $template = file_get_contents($ltpldir . $template . '.php');
    else if (file_exists($pthemeltpldir . $template . '.php')) $template = file_get_contents($pthemeltpldir . $template . '.php');
    else if (file_exists($ltpldir. $type . "-template-" . $template . '.php')) $template = file_get_contents($ltpldir. $type . "-template-" . $template . '.php');
    else $template = file_get_contents(wpdm_tpl_path($default[$type], $ltpldir));

    If a dev can have a look on this part to improve it.

    I suggest to replace above code by something like this :

    $directories = [
        get_stylesheet_directory().'/download-manager/'.$type.'-templates/',
        get_template_directory().'/download-manager/'.$type.'-templates/',
        WPDM_BASE_DIR.'tpls/'.$type.'-templates/'
    ];

    $getTemplateContent = function() use ($directories, $template, $type, $default) {
        foreach ($directories as $dir) {
            if (file_exists($dir . $template)) {
                return file_get_contents($dir . $template);
            }
            if (file_exists($dir . '/' . $template)) {
                return file_get_contents($dir . '/' . $template);
            }
            if (file_exists($dir . $template . '.php')) {
                return file_get_contents($dir . $template . '.php');
            }
            if (file_exists($dir . $type . "-template-" . $template . '.php')) {
                return file_get_contents($dir . $type . "-template-" . $template . '.php');
            }
        }

        return file_get_contents(wpdm_tpl_path($default[$type], $dir));
    };

    $template = $getTemplateContent();

    Best regards.

    Thank you. I can see the issue is fixed now.

    We are having an issue with web hooks – Zapier is not seeing any of them. IF we choose the New wpdm_before_email_download_link Hook, the client never even receives the email to download the file. It sits as a loading screen. Could you assist with this?

    Here is an example of the page with the issue: https://www.globaldatavault.com/blog/cybersecurity-guide-cloud-data-management/

    Let me know if you need access to Zapier.
