Hello Richard,
As you are using the free version of wpdm, there is no option to update directly from wpdm setting. But there is a update option in the settings of wpdm pro.
However, the issue is solved. I downloaded the example file and found there is both email and date.
However, if you still face the issue with the pdf viewer, I would suggest you to clean site cache from Downloads > Settings > Privacy > Clear All Cache
I hope it will solve the issue.
Thanks

Hello,
We have released the WPDM Pro and Premium package add-on update.
First of all update both of them and enable Downloads>Settings>Premium Package>Purchase Settings>Allow users to play mp3 files before purchase.
Also, enable Authorize MasterKey to download premium packages too located under Downloads>Settings>Premium Package>Frontend Settings.
Hopefully, your request is full filled now.
Thanks.
Hello etc,
Hope you are well. The Categories block has not orderby settings for now. However, you may use the All Downloads Table Gutenberg block. Otherwise, you may also can use the plain shortcodes too. You shall get the shortcode lists from here,
https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/
If you are using Elementor, you can use check this add-on too,

Hello @riccardogt,
Hope you are well.
If you are using the latest version of wpdm, You can export downloads with all fields from the export menu of wpdm then you can set Categories, set visitor access, change the title for each file, add a description for each file, and also can set passwords for each file. or you can try wordpress default export option from Dashboard > Tools > Export menu.
For details you can check:
Bulk Import
There you will also find sample csv file to get more idea about it.
Thanks
Hello @bensquirrelpower-co-uk,
Hope you are well.
You can use [file-list] or [file_list_extended] template tags with link template and use that template ID to show file lists with shortcode.
You can apply link template with wpdm_category and wpdm_packages shortcode. Both shortcodes support template parameter and you can use that.
To understand about link template and template tags, you can follow this and this
Also you can check this addon will be a great suit for you.
Please check the demos and different shortcodes.
WPDM Directory Add-on
Thanks
Hi @vavathefallen,
Greetings and welcome.
There are many types of download warnings within Chrome that can generally be flagged as dangerous files.
However, you may find the below link useful in that case.
https://www.alphr.com/how-to-unblock-downloads-google-chrome/
Thanks.
When we are adding preview images via CSV import they are displaying correctly, however we are finding the WP media library is filling up with duplicate images (many of our downloads use the same preview image).
For example, if we have referenced a preview image 100 times in the CSV for different downloads then we are now seeing that image 100 times in the media library even though they all link to the same image as there (only one file for the image exists in /uploads).
This is causing issues when trying to use the media library.
Is it possible to show only one instance of the image to the media library please even if it is used as the preview for multiple files?
Hello,
In this example the list is showing all packages list not single files.
If you create single packages with single files, it will look like this. To make like that you just need to add package from Downloads > Add New option from the wp dashboard then upload just one file.
So I would suggest you to create multiple packages with single file instead of multiple files in a single package in a same category.
or you can check this free addon and use the shortcode for tree view
Thanks
Thanks for the reply and the change you made does indeed help, but…
…perhaps I am using the wrong shortcode? What would I need to use to display all of the downloads in a package on a page, without first having to click the title?
Something like this http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/package-list-in-responsive-table/
Thanks again.
Hi.
I am using the following shortcode and it is working, but I’d like the table to show all the files in the package rather than just the zip file. I have ticked the enable single file download button in the package settings but that didn’t make any difference.
[wpdm_all_packages items_per_page="20" categories="2020-board-papers" jstable=1 order_by="field_name" order="ASC/DESC" cols="title,file_count,download_count|categories|download_link" colheads="Title|Categories|Download::155px"]
Can you point me in the right direction please?
Thanks
Hi, it is hard to replikate the solution if you do not tell me what it is… But after some try and error and comparing our code I think I found the answer myself, and it was very simple:
If I choose “All Downloads Table” from the meny I get this short shortcode below. There is also a “blank” column added automaticly in the right sidebar. (But the table does not show any files from start.):
<!– wp:download-manager/datatable /–>
I tried to add some columns and change a few options, but still no files were visible. My code now looked like this:
<!– wp:download-manager/datatable {“include_children”:true,”cols”:”title|categories|download_link”,”colheads”:”Title|Categories|Download”,”template”:”link-template-default.php”} /–>
I found the reason: After adding new columns I have to delete that first blank auto-added column, to make the table work. Only after deleting that initial empty column will files be visible.
So, problem solved I guess. And easy, when you know the answer.
Hi sorry for late reply, I have been away. I have now changed to a basic theme and in-activated every plugin but WPDM. But it is still not working, so it can not be a conflict.
Please, I need your help with looking at my WPDM settings. Maybe I have missed to check or change something for this to work?
Or something is actually wrong with the code for “All downloads table”?
Hello Barry,
Hope you are well. We have updated shortcode structure recently. The shortcode format will be like this,
[wpdm_all_packages login=1 thumb=1 items_per_page="20" categories="slug1,slug2,..." jstable=1 order_by="field_name" order="ASC/DESC" cols="title,file_count,download_count|categories|update_date|download_link" colheads="Title|Categories|Update Date|Download::155px"]
please check the doc too,
https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/wpdm_all_packages-list-all-downloads-in-tabular-format-in-a-page/
Thank you and regards
Hello Mark,
Hope you are well. You shall get the option from Downloads > Templates > Import Template as I Image attached

please check
Thank you and regards
Do you know if maybe “WPDM Directory Add-on” is needed for the “All Downloads Table” (Gutenberg Blocks) to work? The table is there and I can choose categories, but no file is visible in the table list.
No, I wanted to try the new “All Downloads Table” that is part of your Gutenberg Blocks. Maybe that is the type of table I am looking for. https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/gutenberg-blocks/
I have been using wpdm_all_packages for many years, and that is working just fine. But I want a more modern type, with sorting, searching, filtering and so on. Like the one in Gutenberg blocks seems to be. (But it is not working yet.)
Hello Lollen,
Hope you are well. And sorry for the inconvenience. Are you using this shortcode in your editor
https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/short-codes/wpdm_all_packages-list-all-downloads-in-tabular-format-in-a-page/
if possible, Can you please give your temporary wp-admin login details in a private reply for checking the issue?
Thank you and regards
Hi, can you provide a link to any documentation about how to use “All Downloads Table”?
Or can you write one if it is still missing (I can find nothing, except an old blog post that does not even mention All Downloads Table).
I have already seen your DEMO, but I need some explanation about all different options for the table.
My problem is when testing the table it does not show any files. Only an empty table with columns and the text “Total X items found” (X depending on what category i choose to filter). So I want to start by reading if I have done everything the right way.
Questions, for example:
Do I need to change something in Download settings to make it work (for example I have WPDM Archive Page disabled, do i have to enable it for the table to work maybe?)
When inserting a new All Downloads Table to a page there is an “empty” column without title already from start, but I see I can also add my own columns. What is the difference, what is the empty column supposed to show? Should I delete that after inserting my own choosen columns??
If I do NOT choose any “Include categories” under Queries, will it by default show ALL files in ALL categories to visitors? Or nothing?
What is “Category match” refering to, what does it do?
What is the differens between enabled or disabled “Asynchronous Request”? What does it do?
Important: I use User Role Editor to restrict some of the files and categories to different user groups. If I insert this table so everyone can see it, even without being logged in, can I be sure those restricted files and categories will be hidden as they should. And only visible if you are logged in at a proper user level/group?
Hi,
wpdm-all-downloads.php is now all-packages-shortcode.php located under the download-manager/src/package directory in the latest version and I think you should be able to customize it.
You have updated from the very old version right? as code structure has been changed in the latest version.
Thanks.
Hi,
Only link or page template files should be customizable not the wpdm-all-downloads.php file.
As it’s described in the docs /{active-theme}/download-manager/link-templates.
Thanks.
Hi,
yes, it is the right folders structure, and before the update, it was my custom template that was taken into account. But since the update, it is not the case anymore.
Here is the structure of my folders in my worpdress theme:
download-manager/
> link-templates/
> files....php
> page-templates/
> files....php
page-template-default.php
wpdm-all-downloads.php
I checked, my wpdm-all-downloads.php file is my custom template, but it doesn’t seem to be taken into account as default template.
Thanks to you.

Hi I look at your demos, but can´t understand how to do this:
I want to view ALL our downloads on ONE page on the frontend for our clients. On that page I want the clients to see a list of FOLDERS (not a list of files), one for each download file category!
Important 1: I need the folders to be clickable, so that when they click on a folder it opens. And when they click on it again, or on another folder, the folder is closed.
Important 2: Inside each category folder I want to use the short code “wpdm_all_packages”, specified for each category, so the clients see a nice “table view” with all files information.
How do I set up a list of folders like this, with a specific category short code inside each folder??
(If sub-folders also it possible that is a bonus, but not a must have.)
The shortcode I will use is this, that is not my problem. But I do not understand how to do the folders?
[wpdm-all-packages categories="category A" items_per_page="20" order_by="title" order="ASC" jstable=1 cols="title,download_count|package_size|publish_date|version|download_link" colheads="Title, Downloads|Size|Publish|Version|Open/Download"]

Lollen. Reason: (I forgot to add the categories to the short code)
Hi, I’ve created a custom template for render my download links, but since the last update of wp download manager, my custom template has been replaced by another template.
By watching my custom wpdm-all-downloads.php file, apparently nothing has been changed.
How can I retrieve my custom template ?
Thank you.
Hi there,
Been using this plugin for a while now, and until recently the shortcodes were working exactly as I wanted, displaying a paginated list of the downloads in a category, 10 items on each page.
However, following one of the recent updates, this is now broken. I haven’t changed the shortcodes at all, but all site pages with paginateed category lists display only 6 items per page … which would be OK except they also only show 5 pages, meaning almost 20 downloads per category are not showing on the pages.
I note that the shortcode for displaying a tree of every download is also no longer working.
Any suggestions?
David
