As I cannot visit your site’s plugins page, I am not sure about the version of wpdm free and wpdm extended shortcode you are using.
However, if it is outdated, please update those to the latest version 3.2.64 and 3.0.4 respectively.
I have again checked the issue in my development environment as well as here. Everything is fine. The categories are correctly arranged. You can edit the page from here with username/password demo/demo. but in your site example page, I see order asc/desc is not working.
There could be other issues in your site. In this case, I would suggest running a conflict test. You need to run a basic WordPress conflict test on your site to detect what actually causes the problem. To troubleshoot the issue, please deactivate other plugins except for WPDM with WPDM extended shortcode. Then check if the issue still persists. If that solves your problem, activate the plugins one by one, and continue checking the issue. In this way, you will be able to detect which one causes the problem.

Sorry for the delay. We were not notified because of some email issue with notifications from here.
I have found the issue also fixed it for wpdm.
You are using another plugin Document Library Pro, that is also using the same tag slug document-tag that is conflicting with wpdm tags.
So I deactivated that plugin then refreshed the permalink, then it is now working correctly for wpdm pro.

You have to use minimum php 7.4 version. Also please make sure that you have added license to your website properly by following this doc

If you create using that feature, the download link will be like this format: yoursite.com/wp-uploads/2022/12/file.jpg as like the default file links of WordPress.
So Direct download link structure will be changed.
However, with wpdm pro you can upload bulk import download packages by following this doc here.

I am not sure about that. The site was in critical error as soon as I activated download manager.
You can test it by deactivate and activate the suspicious plugins one by one to check the conflict.

I found that you are using the older version of wpdm pro.
Please updated it to the latest version 6.2.8
