Yes, the single-wpdmpro.php will disappear after updating the theme. It is better you may keep a backup of the file.
And for the PDF view, it is giving the server error in the console

The issue regarding the featured image double has been resolved by creating a single-wpdmpro.php file in your theme folder. Add for view button PDF issue, I think there may have been a conflict from your side. can you please enable/disable other plugins for checking, please let me know then

Without pressing the download button, we have such an add-on called, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/lazy-download-add-on/ and pressing immediate download you may check our template tags from here, https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/template-tags/, you can use template tags in your related page or link templates. and get it to work thereby
