I think it may have a conflict between your plugins or theme. You can disable one by one other plugins for testing if there any conflicts. you may also switch theme to another for checking. If you permit me I can also check this process. Please kindly check.

Please kindly get in touch with the server hosting support team, as they will be able to provide the most accurate guidance in this case. Normally, we do not recommend using PHP to host large files. Amazon S3 or Dropbox are more suitable for hosting large files. Please kindly check.

I have information from our team that, If you would like, we can enable the PDF icon again for you. we have already reverted the previous changes, as you reported some font changes on your site.
