And then install the zip file using Dashboard->Plugins->Add New->Upload plugin.

Seems like the zip file you are uploading of the plugin is corrupted.

There was a little misunderstanding with the category access. It means if you select the specific user role, then only that user role can access the single package page and download the item. You can see the access description that says, “Select the roles who should have access to the packages under this category“. But any user can create category and post package from the frontend and backend if you allow access to create post and category. It’s WordPress default feature.

You can just modify the existing template file and puts it in your theme folder/tpls. The filename for the shortcode is wpdm-all-downloads.php, you can find it in plugins/download-manager/tpls.

If you really want to hide all the post before someone clicks on category name you can use the category shortcode from directory addon. Here is the shortcode [wpdm-categories subcat="1" showcount="0" cols=3] for the demo (https://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/categories/).

Sorry, the default archive shortcode doesn’t support the feature like showing only category files not sub cats, hiding count number, but you can always edit the template file of the archive page to achieve the functionalities.

You can reduce your picture size for the site. And use higher resolution picture for download. It can solve the issue.

For showing custom title name for the specific category you can use title="Custom Title Here or 1" within the shortcode.

But if you can give the page link I can see the about the additional text field. It’s maybe the category title.

Hi there,

You have to customize the /wpdm-archive-page/tpls/archive-page-with-sidebar.php template. Find ‘View Details’ text there and replace the text. The set <?php echo wpdm_download_url(get_the_ID()); ?> as href value and remove the apc-pack-<?php echo $xid; ?> class.

When editing the template follow the rules stated above ( make your own copy of template ). You can put the modified template on {active-theme}/download-manager.

This won’t work when your package is locked.
