replied. please add following code at the end of download-manager.php, that will resolve the conflict with nextgen gallery:

add “toolbar=0” with shor-code, to change cols you can use cols = 1,2,3,4,6 :
[wpdm_category id="annual-report," item_per_page=10 toolbar=0 cols=6 ]
we kept such popup with free version as free version doesn’t have separate page for download. pro version has separate page for download so we skipped that popup here, but with v4.0.0, we are coming with new add-on (free) to apply popup for link.
please download the add-on again, we have released v2.0.1 with that issue fixed.
may be something with server/hosting, ask them to increase some time limit, or if it is a public download, then you can attach url with package rather then from path, that will avoid time limit issue for server

that will not be possible automatically, you can add mirror package link there in page and user can try manually.
