Shaon – Can you please amplify … what short-code specifically do you use? It would be nice if you put together a tutorial for “how to make the home page template” on your demo/sample link. Great plugin – but for the general/junior user it is not obviously clear how to fully use

Create link tmeplate using following code:

if you want to use custom url , make a link tmeplate like this: <a href="your-url-here">[title]</a> , more details: http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/docs/integrated-templates/

you need to create a link template without [download_count] tag, more details: http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/docs/integrated-templates/

We’re having the same problem with our installation. Everything else working absolutely fine, but there’s no Description in the data array. Here’s what’s being output at the moment in the download popup $data.

Array ( [id] ► 9 [title] ► Test File [description] ► [category] ► N; [file] ► Lighthouse.jpg [password] ► [download_count] ► 0 [access] ► member [show_counter] ► 0 [quota] ► 0 [link_label] ► Download [icon] ► download_down_arrow.png )

Is there a uniform answer to this, or would you need to look at our configuration?

if you want to make fields mandatory you will need wpdm form builder add-on. please send me your url where you using it, so that I can check the message

yes, you can apply their emails add package password, then mail then the package details page url, after they open the url. they will be asked for password and they will have to enter their email as password, and if their email exists in password list, they will be able to download the file.

I made that edit (10 replacements in that one file) and it still does not seem to work.

Clicking the title of a download shows a URL directing to: SiteURL.com/download7/package_name/ but that actually displays the home page (not a 404 error). The link to download the item shows SiteURL.com/site/?wpdmdl=2 (/site/ is the subdirectory for the WP install) and this does give a 404 error.

I did a grep search for “site_url” through every file of this plugin and found it located in these files:
/modules/canonical-url.php
download-page.php
wpdm.php
/email-templates/wpdm-email-lock-template.html
wpdm-login-form.php

Changing site_url to home_url in just the first file did not work, so I tried changing it in top three files, but that did not work either.

I would prefer not to have support team edit the settings or files for me, mostly because this is obviously a change that will need to be made each time we update the plugin…so I need to know exactly what is going on. It would be best if you could just help me document the exact changes here.

looks like some cs conflict with your theme, please give me the url to suggest required css change.

it will happen if you are using block hotlink add-on. Block hot link add-on block direct access to download link. You need to deactivate block hotlink add-on in that case.
