Hi, after using WPDM for a long time now I am still confused why there are TWO download links on every single page template, one textlink and one green button? Why?
(I believe it has something to do with “single file download allow”?, but not sure how and why? We almost always upload single files and tick Single file download: “Use Global”.)Also the two links are different, why? (Both opens the same PDF.) EXAMPLE:
Textlink is: https://www.oursitename.com/download/productsheetABC/?wpdmdl=1424
Green button links is much longer: https://www.oursitename.com/download/productsheetABC/?wpdmdl=1424&ind=ZTyoGctF6bo8LZNdBs7AIlg_L5BPsEvjf1uHPm7zeaZVA4nUCKS3VlX9j7U7dZpII have Default values and when I changed “Link Label”: “Download” to swedish words (and “Update all”) that changed everything, BUT NOT the green download-button on single file pages. Why is that?
But the green download-button DID change to swedish when I uploaded the swedish language po and mo files, so button is ok now!If I would like ONLY the green download-button on single file pages, not also the extra textlink, HOW do I do that?
Topic: Document preview
Hi,
Is there a way to insert a “Preview document” link in a file in Download Manager?Maybe next to the “Download” button?
I have tried to implement the “Embed Any Document WordPress plugin” – but with no luck…
Thank you!
If I check “Must Agree with Terms” it doesn’t seem to affect my ability to download at all. Also, I don’t see any handling for terms_lock in the DownloadLink() function. Did the handling get left out, or is there something I’m supposed to do besides click the terms lock checkbox and fill out the form?
Topic: 4.6.6 Update Issues
After updating WP Download Manager Pro to version 4.66 the entire plugin was deleted and then I had manually upload the zip file to reinstall.
However now the issue is that download links are no longer being sent via email using Download Link Extended. It just says “Processing.”
How do I fix this?
Thanks.
Hi there Shaon,
My site seems to be getting 404 errors from the created download files, the pages seem to have /feed/ after the download link which doesn’t link to anything creating a 404 error, is this an issue that can possibly be resolved with the plugin?
Please see one of the full links Google Webmaster Tools is reporting with a 404 error: https://www.readysteadygymnastics.co.uk/download/accidents-first-aid-policy-march-2017/feed/
If I take /feed/ off the end it goes through to the page for the specific download and works correctly.
If anyone else knows how to resolve this issue, your comments are very much appreciated, thanks for your help in advance.
Topic: Default Link Template
Hello,
sorry for that question. But I just can’t find the default Link-Template. I would like to remove the display how many downloads there have been.
cheers
ericHi!
I am using a Rockettheme template (Remnant) that uses the Gantry 5 framework. I have installed WPDM and needed add-ons to pick page and link templates and download buttons. Everything work just fine except for the choosing of a page template. I can pick different link templates and they change accordingly, but the page template only allows for the Default template to be chosen.
I have WPDM on another site which uses Gantry 4, and there it works just fine.
I get a javascript-error in the browser console, which tells me that Download Manager lacks the file bootstrap-chosen.css.map in the catalog download-manager/assets/css/.
Please help me, since this is really crippling my site at the moment.
Kind regards
MichaelAny time I create a package using the advanced CSV import, when I attach a file to that package, the link to download appears as an “x” and the doc preview displays a message- “You don’t have permission to download this file.” I made a test csv import that only had a title and a filename and this happened. I even unattached the file from the package I created in the advanced CSV import and attached a different file and it still gives me the same result.
