Hi there
I have a client website with a downloads section I am trying to get working from the old site (see login information in private reply below..) , which I want to transfer to the new site https://www.familyservicens.ca/downloads/ (does not require login)
I did an export and import using wordpress tools for this, it created the XML file, which I imported but the links do not work.
The XML file is so small, I don’t think it properly downloaded any of the files because when I check the master link, it produces an error… sorry file not found.
Can you please help me figure out how to get things working correctly. Happy to continue this chat via email.. contact@highlandmultimedia.com
When the system tells someone to click the login link to download, the link isn’t working? It works when yuou right click and open in new window though?
Here’s the page: https://staging.heskins.com/all-downloads/
Hello! using WPDM version 3.1.05, shown the download packages categories vies on the pages through WPDM short codes, the issue is when page 2,3,4 or any next page is clicked, the generated URL’s are e.g domain.com/?cp_443=2 for other pages e.g domain.com/page-url/?cp_1867=2. These pagination is not index by google, in webmasters all pagination pages are in error.
If I update the plugin the template I am using “link-template-audio” changes in the updated version. In version 3.1.05 this template is using a separate card body and proper spaces /alignment between other files and when updated the template has no card body and space between other files.
Could you please guide me what to do to fix this pagination issue without changing the template design. Further, can we add “load more” button instead of using pagination.
Thank You
Good morning,
I need to integrate what the shortcode
[wpdm_direct_link id="Package ID" target="_blank" label="Download Me!" class="css class names" eid="element-id"]
Does within an email sent by Contact Form 7.
Currently, when I use the shortcode, the email is sent, but it doesn’t interpret the shortcode. I simply see the shortcode written out.
How can I make this work?
I have the free version (3.2.66) of Download Manager running on Patheon server which in the past hasn’t has any issues. Recently it has been noticed that the files aren’t saving when creating new downloads through the green button upload issue.
When I run the site on my local hosting, it doesn’t replicate this issue.
On the Pantheon server, I can see:
– the file get uploaded successfully after selecting it from the local drive.
– the file name get added above the green box with the garbage bin link next to it.
– saving the new record, sends the file name successfully
– the new file is on the server in the uploads/download-manager-files directory correctly
– the new post is in the posts table
– the metadata table has all the new metadata fields added but I have noticed that the __wpdm_files
field doesn’t get the correct object saved and has the filename empty.
This file name being empty is obviously the problem but I’m at a loss was to why this is happening on the Patheon hosting all of a sudden.
Anyone have any ideas?
I have two features I respectfully request that you give serious consideration to:
1 – Support (standard) Post Tags. This should be a toggle (or multi-choice radio for those who have a need to use BOTH standard Post Tags as well as custom WPDM Tags) The lack of support for normal Post Tags is a non-starter for most webmasters I work with which is why they will not use your plugin despite my past recommendation, but personally I just hack your plugin to fix this oversight. The use of Post Tags is a very common method to associate downloadable content with Posts along with other ‘related’ content.
2 – It’s very nice that you offer the ability to customize Templates, but there needs to be a simple way to set a “default” custom template for both link and page views, that applies to all assets unless overridden by individual template selections on assets. Disabling all other templates (as had been suggested to me by your support rep) does not work. It was also suggested that I purchase yet another plugin to set these defaults, but that is ludicrous.
At $99 annually, being able to check “yes support Post Tags” and to set default custom templates are VERY basic features that Pro users should reasonably expect to find.
I appreciate that you keep this plugin updated, but I have to re-hack it manually every time you update, and am thus unable to use the auto-update feature in WP. This is inconvenient and has me hunting for a different plugin, before my next renewal.
PLEASE consider these requests – I believe they will improve the value of your plugin, and I am not asking for more than other premium plugins deliver.
