We’re running into an issue with a 900MB file on our WPDM installation. When using the WPDM link to download the file, the file stops at 500MB and appears to have finished, even though the file is actually 900MB.

We’ve tried adjusting the Download Speed (currently 20480), Resumable Downloads, and Output Buffering settings but have not been able to resolve the issue. When disabling both the Output Buffering and Resumable Downloads options, the WPDM download link gives us an error:

We have adjusted the server settings to increase the memory limit up to 6GB using both PHP INI settings and wp-config.php directives, but continue to receive the memory allocation error. We were also able to download the file successfully in the browser when placing it in another directory and accessing that URL directly. This leads us to believe there might be something specific to the WPDM plugin that is causing the issue.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do to resolve this issue.

When trying download larger files, somewhere about 10mb or larger, I get a “Failed – Network Error” message. It is the same message in Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Smaller downloads work, but larger ones do not. The funny thing is, when logged into the WordPress CMS everything works. Only non-logged in users experience issues with downloading files.

It’s really important people can skip through our MP3 files using the audio player. I notice on single files people can do that:

But when there’s more than one file in a list all they can do is play it straight, and clicking the player brings them back to the start again:

Also when you hit download on the single file package you get the browser player where you can right click and save, but the browser forces you to download straight away in the multiple file package.

We’re using WPDM for the software download area on our website, I created several downloads and added the shortcodes to a page in wordpress. Worked great!
Now I had to move the full installation to a new server. I copied the full database and the full wordpress folder to the new server, I changed some settings and the site is working.
Problem: I can’t download my files. I see ‘0 File(s)’ and the download link does not work.
I found the entry for the file in the wp_postmeta table, I changed the value for meta_key=__wpdm_files to the correct value
Example:

'a:1:{i:0;s:39:\"wp-content/uploads/files/version_7_0/doc/jd_qs_d.pdf\";}'
Still doesn't work.
I assigned the file again in the backend - download is working now, but the postmeta path has the same value as before:

‘a:1:{i:0;s:52:\”wp-content/uploads/files/version_7_0/doc/jd_qs_d.pdf\”;}’
Question now: Why does the download not work before I reassigned the file? Path is correct, the must be another value, but I don’t see it.
I don’t like to reassign all files, I’m looking for an sql query to solve this.
