    Hi,

    I have a few problems I hope you can help me with ASAP in regards to the directory add on as you can see here http://bit.ly/10tPW5O – testing01

    1) When you click on the categories, the titles don’t show in full.
    2) Once you’ve selected a category, the menu does not disappear, overlapping the results.
    3) Also, once the category is selected, I would like the category that is selected (i.e. Social media) to appear in the menu instead of the parent category (Theme, Type, Source)
    4) Also, I would not like the default view to show downloads initially. Anyway to get rid of this?

    Hope to hear from you soon.

    I cannot figure out why timthumb.php isn’t displaying the thumbnail images correctly on our download links. All images are in their proper folders.

    You still have temporary login details to our site, fyi.

    actually you can add as many as download your want per package, and you can enable disable individual downloads for front-end users

    Shaon my install is here – http://churchofourlord.org/resources-media/all-downloads-by-category/?orderby=create_date&order=asc

    I have a few issues in no particular order …

    – I’ve no idea where this goes [wpdm_archive] and have tried several ways I thought it should all to no avail.
    – I’ve set the icons I want to use in the individual categories but they are being overwritten by what ever icon was selected in each package.
    – In the URL I gave above what do I need to change to always have the newest file at the top.i.e. in Bulletins current May 26 2013 is at the top and the latest one for 2 June 2013 is last. Whereas I want the 2 June 2013 to be displayed at the top with 26 May the next one down.
    – I got and installed the free add-on for the extended shortcodes. However what I see when I go to Settings, Short Codes is a whole page of broken images? If I go with FTP to check the directory it either doesn’t exist or it is empty. This I think is a path issue.

    All for now but I may have more.down the road, thank you.

    If I change

    ‘show_in_nav_menus’ ► false
    to
    ‘show_in_nav_menus’ ► true

    Then All I get in appearance > menus

    Downloads (Widget On Left Side)
    option: wpdmpro

    How can I get the categories from the custom taxonomy to show up here?

    Could you give me a bit of code I could paste into the functions.php file

    Update: I was able to fix the issue. During the installation set the plugin an incorrect path to the upload directory. However, I had the same problem after correcting the path to the file browser root. I had to re-create all categories to get this solved.

    But I am still not happy with the configuration. I would like to have the following setting: Menu item e.g. Downloads >

    – Option a) showing all categories and sub-categories

    To test this is purchased the directory add-on. But I have two problems with the template. I do not want to list all items below the menu. Is there any option to deactivate the single items from the overview page? 2nd issue appears when a category contains only one file. The drop-down menu is not visible. You can access the file only by clicking on the category name. This is a bad user experience. How to fix this?
    I have also tried to use the extended short-codes, but [wpdm_tree] does not work, all I got is a blank page (plugin is installed and activated).

    – or option b) showing the content of a specific category (incl. sub-categories)

    Here is the problem, that category mapping is missing. It would be great to display the category name in addition to the description.

    Besides, the Image Button plugin does not work. I cannot change the button, it’s still the same after updating the setting. Any idea?

    Hope to get any support on this. I have already sent you the login details on 28.05.2013.

    Many thanks in advance!

    I purchased the Pro version to manage free downloads the easiest way. But unfortunately is the Pro version not as professional as I thought. The templates look pretty bad and I do not want to spend much extra effort to design an own template. Furthermore, they display the wpdmpro logo even though it’s a paid version?!
    Nevertheless, I created some categories and uploaded some files to test the plugin. I put the shortcodes of two categories into a page, but all I got is a blank page. Then I tried to preview a single file,- that works so far, I can access the page, but I cannot download the file without crashing my browser!

    So please advise to get this plugin working, otherwise I want my money back. If you need a temp wp login, please let me know. I will forward you the details via mail.

    1. Go to downloads
    2. Select Add New
    3. Scroll down to Amazon S3 File Source tab
    4. Select Upload File
    5. Select file to upload and observe

    Progress spinner rotates about 6 times, and then stops.

    Expected result: uploaded file appears in window.
    Actual result: selected file does not appear in window.

    From the Amazon S3 File Source window, I can see buckets and previously uploaded files. I’ve entered and verified access and secret keys. There is not documentation on the site for configuring the S3 bucket add-on.

    I purchased the Pro version specifically for use with Amazon S3. Please let me know what needs to be done for this plug-in/add-on to function correctly.

    It seems it is not counting the downloads of the file in the package. I don’t know…

    Is this behavior by design? After the lightbox pops up and the user enters their email the file immediately downloads. Then, an email is sent to their address with the download link. I had assumed that checking “Download Immediately” would circumvent the entire email exchange with the user. How can I stop the email from being sent?

    Additionally, the lightbox content is really strange, going from a quite nicely styled form to “Processing” to a one line box that says “Download”. How can I skin this and change the messages? A screen shot is attached.

    Thank you.

    The URL is http://www.momentivity.com but you have to be a member for the download area. I originally installed the website in a subdirectory (www.momentivity.com/Site). Wpdm worked fine at that time. Later I used the procedures in the Codex: Giving WordPress Its Own Directory under the section Using a pre-existing subdirectory install. Now I can navigate to the category list area and see the list of downloads just fine, but when I click the name of a package it opens the wpdmpro blank page. The URL in the browser shows the subdirectory like this: www.momentivity.com/Site/file-download/mydocument/. If I remove /Site from the URL address in the browser it then navigates correctly to the package page.

    Hmm, it doesn´t really work.
    I see the download archive, but if i click on a categorie another template is visible.
    He didn´t show me the downloads under the archive page, only on a new site, with a different look and feel.

    Hi Clarity,

    I understand your workaround to get this to work as this is what I have done myself but this shouldn’t be happening, I have uploaded about 50 downloads without having to set an icon or modify anything in phpmyadmin, why all of a sudden would it now require us to select an icon to continue. If the plugin was meant to function that way wouldn’t it give us an error like “please select an icon” rather than just showing the user a small green box. Would this be a plugin issue or something else causing this erratic behaviour?

    In reply to: URL Structure?

    2Wayne

    I was able to fix this with url redirect but it would be nice to not have to. The issue I personally was having, i would change the url to show http://www.2wayne.com/downloads/download or mostly seen as this http://www.2wayne.com/download/sabic-excr-sw1500/. When you would see the link to the download or if you take out the package-slug for example /sabic-excr-sw1500/ you get this url: http://www.2wayne.com/download/

    Now with this url, http://www.2wayne.com/download/ it would take you to a blog post that could not be deleted or even edited, it would just take you to http://www.2wayne.com/wpdmpro/wpdmpro/ or http://www.2wayne.com/wpdmpro/ <– these two links im trying to get rid of, no clue why they would show up?? So i was able to use a redirect plugin to get this to work so it would just skip those pages and redirect you to the normal downloads page instead of these posts/Page

    Hope that is not too confusing.

    Download links work fine — but package pages/links do not. All of our downloads were imported from Download Monitor in case that matters.

    See the page here: http://manausa.com/popular-downloads

    If I go in and “edit” each package individually and press the “update” button — then the package link starts working. I’d rather not do this for over 35 pages of downloads though!

    Please help. I’ve tried updating permalinks, uninstalling/reinstalling, etc.

    Great news, I got it working, and it’s working great!

    Just need to clean up some things, and finish it to be fully dynamic (there is one new wp_option I may need to store, and maybe add a few inputs to file-manager/add-new-package for it). I also need to add some if conditions, to properly handle my script to only be triggered if “FTP-DUMP” or something is enabled. I’d like to clean up my handling of absolute/relative paths too. It’s very dirty still.

    So far, I only had to add change one block of code, and add a new block.
    Then, I referenced my own script in it’s own PHP file, and I just include it once if admin.php?page=file-manager&task=RefreshPackage, it pulls the needed references to define it’s variables from $_GET[‘id] (WPDM’s file package DB records). I built it off your current Add/Edit system.

    Here is the change log to your source:
    [the code tags on this forum seem to trim some of my code, so I will also attach a .txt]

    **NOTE:**
    I always apply source formatting via Dreamweaver when I edit files, so my line numbers won't match unless you do that first.
    Therefore, relying on line numbers isn't best, so I will also reference local objects

    /*///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

    include("error-page.php");
    return;
    }

    include('refreshpackage.php');
    }

    and this is the code for my refreshpackage.php, needs to be cleaned up now as I said:

    unlink("./" . $zipfilename);
    }
    }
    echo "Archive ". $zipfilename . " created successfully!";
    ?>

    Of course, I will also add a location href at the end of my script to reload page?=file-manager, and will echo a “Successful!” message there when it’s done. Now I get to smooth out all the details! 🙂

    Do you think any of this may be of benefit to you?

    Hey there Shaon,

    I was working on integrating my script fully into my copy of WPDM and ran into an issue. I’ve been trying to debug but haven’t traced the issue yet.

    After testing my script on their own separate pages, and liking how it worked, I decided to see if I could integrate it into my copy of WPDM.

    first I did this, this worked just fine:

    /*///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
    //in: list-files.php
    +:
    [replaces][div class="button-group"](near line 119 w/ applied source formatting)
    creates a new button for "Refresh Package" on the Download Package Management back-end page, and inserts a line break () in button-group div
    so that all the buttons fit in the table cell
    //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////*/

    <a class="button" href="admin.php?page=file-manager&task=RefreshPackage&id=" style="color: #90F">Refresh Package
    <a class="button" href="admin.php?page=file-manager&task=EditPackage&id=">Edit

    <a class="button" href="admin.php?page=file-manager/add-new-package&clone=" style="color: #336699">Clone
    <a class="button" target="_blank" href='' style="color: #005500">View
    <a href="admin.php?page=file-manager&task=DeleteFile&id=" class="button submitdelete" style="color: #cc0000" rel=" " title="Permanently">Delete

    /*///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

    But then, I changed wpdm.php to include a new action of “refreshpackage()”.
    I just copied EditPackage(), and renamed the function. I intended on testing my newly created Refresh Package button by having it include a new .php file with my script in it. I hadn’t set it up to pass variables yet, that was next.

    /*///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
    //in: wpdm.php
    +:
    [appended][fuction RefreshPackage()](added near line 409 w/ applied source formatting)
    adds function for "Refresh Package" button to refresh the package's item
    //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////*/
    function RefreshPackage(){

    global $wpdb, $current_user;
    get_currentuserinfo();
    $cond_uid = wpdm_multi_user()&&!wpdm_is_custom_admin()?"and uid='{$current_user->ID}'":"";

    $id = $_GET['id'];

    $table_name = "{$wpdb->prefix}ahm_files";
    $file = $wpdb->get_row("SELECT * FROM {$table_name} WHERE `id` = {$id} $cond_uid", ARRAY_A);
    if(!$file[id]) {
    $error = "Sorry, You don't have permission to edit that file!";
    include("error-page.php");
    return;
    }

    include('refreshremotepackage.php');
    }

    The first commit worked just fine. But after the second commit, and placing the refreshremotepackage.php file, suddenly my Downloads menu for WPDM is gone. I have attempted reinstalling with a fresh download from your site, and repairing my DB. I inspected my DB tables too, but couldn’t find anything amiss. Any ideas? Something with licensing perhaps?

    please use the add-on (free) http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/advanced-tinymce-button/
    also list of short-codes are here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/docs/list-of-download-manager-pro-short-codes/

    and
    * no short-code available with code to list all cats, but have an add-on http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-directory-add-on/ , but with code there is a widget for wpdm categories
    * yes, if you place category widget in sidebar, it will show the list of categories and if you click on category name (link) , that will bring you the page will the list of downloads/packages under that category

    if you still face any complexity, please send a temporary wp-admin logoin info to support@wpdownloadmanager.com, we will add some sample data for you.

    Here is what I want to do; and I can’t see how to do it anywhere:

    * I want a page that lists all the categories.

    * When I click a category I want to got a page which lists all the downloads in that category.

    It would be handy if these lists where generated automatically.

    Just simple lists; no boxes, no fancy layout. If someone can tell me how to do this it would be greatly appreciated. At the moment this is very frustrating.

    Thanks,
    Jim

    Maybe I worded this poorly. I can’t use the plugin because the ‘downloads’ folder does not appear as a menu item.
    Please take a look at a snapshot after the plugin was installed and activated, by the way the widgets show up and they
    work. Just no ‘downloads’ folder to do anything.
