In reply to: Issue with Form Lock on random download links
Thanks. I’ve updated the add-on and that’s solved that problem. But now another one is occurring. Whilst I can now download a resource from that resource page (http://familyimpact.org/resources/family-impact-resources/), if I try to download more than one file it simply downloads duplicates of the first file.
So if I click ‘download’ for Adventure Unlimited and fill in my details and get the download link then it works fine. But if I then click on ‘download’ for any other resource it will simply download the duplicate of Adventure Unlimited.
Please advise on how to resolve this as soon as possible.
Also, I checked in my Downloads > Settings > Updates and it wasn’t showing Form Lock Add-on as having an available update. It would be far more useful if that list reflected which updates were actually available.

According to your question:
It is obvious that I do not mean the title “Downloads”. The word stays thes same in both languages.
In german language you plugin shows the corresponding downloads.
In english language your plugin fails to do that.
That is because in english language there appears nothing more than “DOWNLOADS”.According to your other sentences:
I it really hard to understand what you want to say, Shaon.Do you mean,
– you corrected errors with not appears downloads in english version
– you corrected errors with wrong create date?
– I should download WPDM once more?Please clarify.

after updating to WPDM 2.8.9 the hole Site with my Downloads is down. When I deactivate the Download-Manager plugin, the Site is ok. When I reinstall an older version of WPDM, the Site ist ok an the Download-Links are ok.
I’m using the WPDM TinyMce Button and the WPDM Button Templates. Theses plugins are broken too, when i use an older version of WPDM.Can you help me? 😉

I’ve tried uploading zip files, JPEG files etc etc and when I come to list the download on a post or page, using any type of link (direct or otherwise) the link simply presents the user with a lot of garbage – meaning the plugin is reading the file and presenting it to the user as a text file. All other graphics and zip files that I link to (outside of WP and this pluging) present the user the option to download (as expected) so I know it’s not a mime.types issue.
From what I’ve been able to see, there’s no additional configuration that’s required once this plugin is installed, so I’m left a little unsure as to how to proceed.
Can someone advise? I’m loving the potential of this plugin and keen to get it working…

Hi – I’m currently experiencing problems with some of the downloads on one of my sites. You can see the page here: http://familyimpact.org/resources/family-impact-resources/.
There are a list of downloads, all of which are created as packages in exactly the same way. They are simple PDF documents that the site visitor needs to complete a form (using Form Lock) supplying their name and email address in order to access. If you click on any of the download links on that page you should get a pop up form asking the site visitor to subscribe to download. This seems to happen sometimes, but if you click a few of the download links on that page you will soon get a pop up box that instead of the standard form is a pop up box that says:

See attached screenshot for how this appears.
The strange thing is that the error is not reliably replicated. You could easily click on that top resource (Adventure Unlimited) and get the subscribe to download form appear exactly as it should. But if you click on a few different download links on that page you will see the CSS pop up instead of the form, even on a download link that previously displayed the correct form.
I’ve updated the plugin and addons to the latest versions and still seeing exactly the same issue.
What’s going on? How can I resolve this?

I just realized that password protected downloads no longer work, I had to re-install an earlier version of the website to go back to WPDM 4.4. Please fix all issues and publish a new version that works without any issues. Thanks.

I have tested on completely separate computers which have never visited the site before, and in different browsers. All are experiencing the same problem. I’m not sure what the best thing to do would be as it seems to be working for you only.
At the moment, the Archive plugin is not working at all following the update. I am getting the following error message:
Fatal error: Class ‘wpdm_pagination’ not found in /home/gatcainf/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpdm-archive-page/wpdm-archive-page.php on line 386
Updating the plugin through the new updater does not seem to work. Nor can I find the archive plugin in your list of add ons or my downloads to download it again from scratch.
Any ideas?

I have the same Problem, but only when I generate a new download. The old ones have the right Icon. (see the attached picture)
We use the Tree-View shortcut for viewing the downloads. But I also can’t give you access because its only an Intranet site behind a firewall.Bye Sascha

As an update to any watching, I attempted to do as Substance151 suggested and installed the advanced custom fields add on that came with the special pack I purchased. This looks promising for creating the fields and getting data but as of yet I am unsure how to generate a second email with the data collected.
After creating a group and some fields in the “Custom Fields” area of the downloads menu I went to add them to the form lock only to find that it would not show the field group I created in the drop down… it just said “Select an option” with nothing to select.
Ok… There was an issue someone else had that was similar and 4.5.0 had come out.
After update I was getting an error (see other post) so I deactivated WPDM until I get a resolution to that.
I will keep people updated on how I try to deal with this simple function that should be basic but is not.

We are releasing an update soon to fix this issue. Downloads are there, appears after search. However, after update all downloads will be shown by default.

Got it, you want to move Download Manager packages to another site.
Follow these steps,
1. Copy ../wp-content/uploads/download-manager-files directory to your new sites ../wp-content/uploads/ directory.
2. Export all Downloads using Tools Export (You have to install WordPress export plugin)

3. Import the file now using Tools Import option, assign all posts to one of admin users
Done.

Check allowed user roles from in Downloads Settings Frontend settings. Only allowed user roles will see the wpdm frontend. Please send login info in private reply if that does not solve it.

I am also using the free version of Download Manger with the Customizr theme on http://www.aguapallet.com, so I suspect the same error probably exists on that website also.
I am not a coder and have no idea how to fix this, so please pitch any suggestions at newbie level! Thanks.

our mainsite (.com) works fine but when i got to the downloads section (running wpdm) i receive this error.
“DataTables warning: table id=wpdmmydls-11b417ff09ccc827638fa55e71319654 – Requested unknown parameter ‘1’ for row 0. For more information about this error, please see http://datatables.net/tn/4”
When i close this error, the content which is normally viewable on the page is gone. This error appears on the .nl and the .de download section. Only the .com versions works.
I’m clueless, could you help me out?

We are using the Data Table shortcode to display our downloads and we really like it.

It is setup to be used with Categories (or All Downloads if you remove the Category filter). Is it possible to use Tags? Tags are working with the Tag Shortcode, but we need to use Tags with the Data Table mode too.
