Hi there
On my page, I have several sub-pages (each for every client). On every sub-page, I offer different pdf for download. I use default template extended as link-style.
As you can see in the screenshot, sometimes the client cant see the downloadbutton. All settings for the downloads are the same.Hope, you can help here.

Download Manager shows all packages to all visitors by default. When you assign a role to a package only the users with the role can download but others can still view the package info. But they can’t download the package.
If you want you can hide the package when a user doesn’t have access to it. Just set ‘Hide Everything’ as ‘When user is not allowed to download:’ option in Downloads Settings Basic Access Settings.

Just checking out DM and installed it on a fresh WP setup. So I only have the DM Manager plugin running with the free Centric template. I have two issues.
1. I am not able to add widgets to the download/product page. Also, the footer and comment fields are missing
2. How do I add related downloads to the page? I used the tags and categories to assign downloads to the same taxonomy, but no related links.You can visit the site here https://goo.gl/tFFiUv

Hello there.
I just purchased this plugin because I really like it however I’m having an issue with it. I’m being unable to edit the “Package Settings” options in the downloads I process with it. or anything within that option such as “Lock Options” or “Icons”. it’s not clickable for some odd reason, This also doesn’t let us change the theme or the way the downloads are displayed, it used to work fine before. I’m attaching a screen shot of the issue, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased the File Hosting & Sharing Add-on, after installing I am able to create folders but can’t upload files.
Further, there is an extra tab on the side navigation “my downloads” which is not in the plugin’s demo website, how can I remove it?

Deactivate and delete the old version before installing the latest one. Your downloads will still be there.
Send temporary wp-admin login info in private reply if you want me to install the updated version.

If you are not selling downloads then deactivate and delete the Premium Package add-on. That will remove all sales related widgets and menus.
To remove the Edit Profile and Settings Tab a custom template is required. Here is how you can do it,
1 ) Copy the
/download-manager/tpls/author-dashboard.php
2 ) Put the file in this dir/active-theme/download-manager/author-dashboard.php
3 ) Remove line 23 and 25 from the template fileLet me know if you have further questions.

You can show package excerpt in all packages table. Sorry, but it is available only in Pro version.

Hello,
I have to built a Downloadarea which is only for signed members. The problem is that WPDM-Tree must be visible when i press a download package. The only solution i fond was to put the WPDM-Tree as widget, so i can see together with each download.
But now everybody can see the WPDM-Tree, also visitors are not signed in, because of the widgetbar was shown on each site which is not allowed to see.Is it possible to customize the page from the downloads?

[wpdm_all_packages]then you can useexcerptorexcerpt_X(x is an integer value for character length) as acolsfield value with the shortcode. It will show the description of the specific package as the excerpt.Or, You can customize the all downloads table template here ../download-manager/tpls/wpdm-all-downloads.php by following this.

I have a site where all my downloads are publicly available. Members can add any download they wish. We want users with Editor access to be allowed to upload packages with specific fields that users of the Subscriber role cannot see. So if an Editor created a package with the specific category “Historical” they get additional fields: Publication, Link to Publication. Those fields would be public, but no other users adding a package could have access to add that category.
Do you have any suggestions as to how I can accomplish this?

You were using the Download After Submit add-on for Liveform. We dropped the support for this add-on because Form Lock ( https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/download/wpdm-form-lock/ ) is a better product for this use case. I have installed the Form Lock on your site and form locked downloads are working now.

1 ) All cookies are erased when the user closes the browser. WPDM does not store persistent cookies.
2 ) No, if user downloads without login and the package is open ( not locked ) no cookies are set.

ok I have comment out line 17 from libs/class.DownloadStats.php as described in a further response of Hasibul Amin Hemel because you haven’t published an update that shall regulate the IP anonymization till now.
Regarding cookies:
1. How long will the cookies mentioned from Shahriar be stored at the computer of the user?2. The user of my website can download for free and without any login and there is no import possibility. Really simply. Are there still cookies set?

Hello, I’m wondering so less questions about the gdpr. it is a big trouble and problem in germany.
I need the exact text what the cookie will do and how long it is set and what userdata will be stored and why ….
I have only two situations with your plugin … free for all and some only for registrated and logged in users …
will it work for me and count the downloads further, when I comment out the line 17? are you work on update to integrate the gdpr as options for your plugin? without it will illegal in europe and a lot of people here are very nervous now …

Hi Kathleen,
Please deactivate and delete the free version first, then install the Pro version. Your downloads will still be there. Deleting plugin doesn’t delete downloads.
Please send temporary wp-admin login info in private reply. I will make a small change to anonymize IP.

I am using the free version of the plugin because I only want to give the user of my website the opportunity to download brochures and I would like to have an overview which are the most wanted downloads. There is no login, e-commerce etc. planned.
In the forum for pro users I found following comment regarding the gdpr / dsgvo:
We could help you to achieve the plugin compatible with European data privacy law known as GDPR or EU-DSGVO.
We store IP address of a user to show stats. We store cookies information to make download unlock once user verify.
We can remove the user IP store feature from the database. Also, if you want to run the e-commerce business you need to include in the privacy policy about the user data storage (email, order information) for purchasing online and other things.My question:
Do you also save IP addresses in the free version? Do I need the pro version so that you remove IP store from the database?
Where can I find your privacy policy?I would be glad to hear from you. Thanks in advance!
