Since you’re using the free version of Download Manager, please note that the option to create or edit templates is only available in the pro version.

I just received an update that in the upcoming update, we will improve the loading time(message update time) and fix the button problem for iPhone.
I have forwarded the iPhone issue to our development team and will provide you with an update by tomorrow.
As I mentioned earlier, the plugin is designed to send notifications only for the first message to new users. For existing users, notifications will not be triggered. I will check with our development team to see if there are any specific precautions related to the server that could help improve message loading time.

1. To protect the download tables you have to use this parameter login=1 inside the short-code. login=1 will show a login form for the visitors who are not logged in.
e.g: [wpdm_packages login="1" paging="1" orderby="field name" order="asc or desc" items_per_page="10" template="Link Template ID" cols=4 colspad=2 colsphone=1]
2. If you want to protect all the packages from guest(unauthenticated users) then you have to set the access level of the packages to subscribers so only the login users can access the the packages.
The following settings should set the login/register setup for entire website. Could you please share a URL where the download manager login not working?

You can easily achieve login and register features using download manager plugin.
To set up login and registration pages, simply use the short-codes [wpdm_login_form] and [wpdm_reg_form] respectively on two separate pages named “Login” and “Register.” Then, choose these pages from the selection provided at this link.

In the Download Notification, emails will be sent exclusively to you (the admin), not to the users.
It will require customization because the email lock is configured to send emails to the specified input address regardless of the user’s login status.
Alternatively, you can try using the Download Notification add-on; you can apply Terms and Condition lock to your packages, ensuring that when a user downloads a package, you receive a notification email similar to this.
