Daily Download Limit Add-on for WordPress Download Manager Pro will help you to set up download limits for different user roles
. You can set download limit per user role using the Download Limits add-on.
You can set download limit for specific package from the package settings section but it wont reset automatically. Here is the screenshot

– You can try clearing the stats data to reduce memory usage. To do this, go to:
Downloads > Settings > Privacy > Cache & Stats.
– If you have a good amount of users, and hooked into WPDM for download tracking, it can further memory usage and overhead.

Have you tried the workaround I have shared with you?
For updating the WPDM PRO plugin, Please simply click the Save Settings again for the license key option from Downloads > Settings > License
, and then please update the plugin from the wp-admin > plugins
panel.
For saving settings again for the license key option from Downloads -> Settings -> License
, that will regenerate the access token. Thus the plugin will be updated.
