We haven’t made any changes on our end since the last update to the PDF viewer on April 1, 2025. We also tested it across three different sites, and file previews are working correctly on the latest versions.

Please do let us know if your team shares any further updates or findings.

The issue with previewing PPTX and DOCX files is due to your site HTTP authentication requirements, and unfortunately, there’s no way to bypass this restriction.

Kindly review and adjust your HTTP authentication settings to allow access to these files without affecting security.

The 502 error is most likely a server-side issue. I tested downloading a few files, and all of them worked fine. Could you please let me know which package or files are showing the 502 error?

There are two main steps to ensure only WP Download-related data is imported from your old site:
1.Export the Data Using the Download Manager’s Import/Export Feature:
Use the Download Manager’s Import/Export feature to create an export file containing only the relevant data.
2.Use the WordPress Export Tool:
Go to Tools → Export in your WordPress dashboard. Under “Choose what to export,” select Downloads to generate a file containing only the download-related content.

Once you’ve created the export file, you can import it into your new site to ensure that only WP Download-related data is transferred—nothing else.
