Sorry for the inconvenience.
The 500 (Internal Server Error) error would normally indicate an error on the server, not anything with the code,
It’s mainly due to several factors :
– the CURL extension isn’t installed as it’s required by this plugin
– the allow_fopen instruction is not enabled
– your Memory limit is too low (you will need at least 128M, 64M is pretty low!)
Server errors (error 500) are often caused by plugin or theme function conflicts, so if you have access to your admin panel, try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause…
If that does not resolve the issue, it’s possible that a .htaccess rule could be the source of the problem. To check for this, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and rename the .htaccess file. If you can’t find a .htaccess file, make sure that you have set your SFTP or FTP client to view invisible files.
And the problem still persists, If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for any errors that occurred during that time period.

Hope you are well. For updating the WPDM main plugin, Please simply click the Save Settings again for the license key option from Downloads > Settings > License, and then please update the plugin from the wp-admin > plugins panel. For saving settings again for the license key option from Downloads > Settings > License, that will regenerate the access token. Thus the plugin will be updated, hope that, it will solve your issue. please let me know

I have checked your issue, and I have found that for WPDM it is responding with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error). it could be your server issue, may be blocking the WPDM services, for that you may contact your server administrator. please check and let me know

From the admin option, you can select the front-end option for the progress bar or countdown timer.
In the page content, you will have to use the shortcode [wpdm_lazy_download] to show the waiting time progress bar. You can also add your own content like tracking code, ads, or anything above or below of short-code or in both places.
