If you remove all visitors from the allowing access option and add other roles in the package edit section like this then user need to signup/login to get access to download.
Also, make sure that these options are enabled so a new user can create a new account in order to download files.

1. User can remove added link and add a new link when they need to update it. Removing and adding new needs the same effort, so, we didn’t keep the option to edit the link.

2. Please make sure that you have given the proper Allow Access permission in the package settings by following this. However, We tried to debug the issue by visiting the above-mentioned link but it required login.
So, please share your admin and file login credentials in a private reply if you need further assistance regarding this matter.

Well, prefixes like 1622786686wpdm_ are added before the file name when a file with the same name already exists.
However if you select the overwrite file option from the WPDM settings by following this, it will overwrite the old file and will not create a new file with a prefix.
