you can use default link template or link template with icon from the link template drop-download list.
don’t use other bootstrap plugin plugin, that will include bootstrap css and js twice and may make popup no-functional.
the solution for bringing icons is, wrap the short-code with “wpdm-pro” class like this:

in package list at admin show icon for file type not the selected one, but now i got its a bit confusing for user. so it change it back with final release of 3.3.5

no, from v3.3.4, you even don’t need that “Front-end CSS” tab, you can delete the file from download-manager/modules/css.php

I got it now. in last update of the add-on , the option arrangement a bit changed. you can manage user roles from here: Admin Menu Downloads Settings User Roles Tab ( …………../wp-admin/admin.php?page=file-manager/settings&tab=user-roles )
issues are fixed with v3.3.5.rc2 , please download again to get latest version and update your copy.
use remote url option if you want to open those rather then download, but also then it sometimes depends on browser settings.
we are working on it. from version 3.3.5.rc1 you set your own app id, but we are still optimizing it and final result will be with 3.3.5 ( coming in few days)
