If you are running free now, you don't have to worry to move. Delete free version then install pro and use attached add-on to migrate packages. Only thing is as we moved to custom post type in wpdm v4 , you will have to reassign categories to packages if there is any, and re-enter package short-code, as IDs are changed in custom post type and we didn't have any way to keep same ID. If you use wpdm pro v3.3.8, you don't have change anything as v3 was using same custom table as free. But custom post type will give you better experience in long term 🙂

the plugin don’t use media manager, it keeps uploaded files in a protected dir so that user don’t get access to those file directly, that is the main purpose of download manager. Anyhow still where is the problem with that, which feature of the plugin is not working for you.

@calmass, looks like something with your theme. anyhow try renaming wpdm-package.php to single-wpdmpro.php

archive page order option still not available but we will add it with next update, but for category you already can use shorting option with short-code,

order_by: field name to sort packages, you can sort by title, download_count, create_date, update_date or id , its a optional parameter, if you skip this parameter “id” will be taken as default.
