#1. v3 supports latest version of wp, but upgrading v4 will be the best decision, if v4 is far more stable and seo friendly comparing with v3 though migration may need some manual work.

Actually wpdm pro using wordpress native media upload, so if it doesn’t upload, you need to upload through FTP and use server file browser to attach file. Server file browser is working now.
