you can directly update to v4.4 after release.
- You need to download it from here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/purchases/
- deactivate & delete old version from your installation
- install and activate latest version
FYI, deleting old version will not harm your old data.

Looks like your server in not supporting output buffering anymore, so I’ve disabled it from Admin Menu Downloads Settings Basic File Download section and now download is working fine again.
next update is coming within this month. you will not have to edit all package.
