Yes, it requires deactivate / delete / reinstall process, after this update, you will be able to on click update feature from wpdm settings page for future updates. You won’t lose any data. The process is totally safe.

However, you still need to update to latest version to get license key work, now I activated license key in your site locally. You had to use the absolute path in file browser root.

Also, the User Activity Log plugin generating some javascript error which was breaking the functionality of WordPress admin menu and wpdm settings page, I have deactivated it.

The FTP is not allowing me to update any file.

In that case, you can also add the file path as a preview image in your CSV data file which you are preparing to import, it will be set as featured image of the package and in link/page template you can show thumbnail of the featured image.

You are seeing the invalid key error, as our license moved to https from http.  Please download the latest version of wpdm pro and update your copy, that will fix the issue.

Hi, sorry for delayed reply. It seems like your server doesn’t support output buffering  or partial downloads when delivering file through PHP, it required to load in full before.  But, As your files are public the easiest solution, for now, is attaching those files as URL. However, we are working on a custom player, which will be available soon.

License error may happen for following reason:

1. You are using older version ( < 4.6.3 )
2. cURL is not active on your server
3. Server firewall is blocking https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com
4. License key already applied in a site

If answers are “No” for all of the points above, the license will work just fine. Still, only 10 or fewer users in total were facing the issue due to the reasons mentioned above, which is less than 1% of our new user of any single day. However, we are taking care of every issue anyone having there, but you know, it is sometimes hard to find the reason without checking it where it is exactly happening.

So, as you are facing license issue, here are the steps to follow:

1. If you are not using latest version, please update, that resolved the license issue for all major users, who were facing license issue after moved license server from HTTP to https
2. If you are using the latest version and still facing license issue, please check if cURL is disabled or not working properly on your server.
3. Final steps is to check server firewall, of that is blocking wpdownloadmanager.com
4. But if you already applied key on a site and now trying to change the domain, you need to give me the key in a private reply to unlock it.
5. And if you can’t detect or decide what it is, you need to allow us to access your site to check the issue and adjust it, that is the regular way when customers need support, nothing unusual there, but we respect individuals decisions and privacy policy.

@creation1, For PDF, you just need to use [pdf_thumb] in link or page template, it will generate and show pdf thumbnail automatically.

@martinduys, may you please explain your situation little more, what type of file you are trying to upload and how you like to see your thumbnails. Then, we shall see, if the feature is integrable or somehow achievable though an add-on. :).
