I don’t use all the plugin features, so I would like to migrate the download manage pro version to the free version. Can I do it without any problems or would I lose all existing download links?
Topic: AMP page is not working
Hello, I have been using the download manager plugin for a long time, but I have converted my website to AMP, unfortunately when I click the download button on the AMP pages on my site, it does not work, it redirects to the # link, how can I solve it?
Hi, I just starting to use this plugin and need a bit of suggestion please. currently I have 2 issues.
Download Issue
1. I can’t find the option where it forced download instead of opening in new window, hide the direct url and disable direct link download.Security Issue (this is in learndash area)
1. I have setup access to a certain membership level but it doesn’t seem to work, I test dummy account with no permission (copy and paste the link) and it can open the download just fine.
2. I tried Elementor addin and add download button on a page in Learndash, the shortcode where it is a Title has a link that don’t allow download which is good. On the other hand the download button that come with the shortcode (on the right hand side) has difference link and it can open download same as download button widget (the security access doesn’t work)I’m a bit confused, your suggestion will be much appreciated.

I´m using https://deployer.org/ to deploy my site to different stages (local/staging/production). I also use https://roots.io/bedrock/ file structure.
Local dev – Everything works great. It works with bedrock file structure, file browser root is “<something>/web/app/uploads/”.
Staging/Production – Attached files not working. File browser root default is “<something>/deploy/releases/2/web/app/uploads” where “uploads” is actually a symlink to “<something>/deploy/shared/web/app/uploads/”. This works for uploads in standard media library. I can upload files in media library first and then go to downloads/package and then “select from media library”. Then the files will be attached, “__wpdm_files” in db will have correct urls, and user can download the attached files. BUT, if I choose the “drop zone” or green “select files” button, the attached files will add up in the attached files meta box, BUT as soon as I press “update”, all attached files (but not the latest uploaded) will disappear from the meta box and will not be saved to db (“__wpdm_files” is almost empty, only one id).
Any ideas what could be wrong here?

Hi, you were able to help me in a previous topic to allow links to Vimeo and Wistia videos to now work in my packages (https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/embed-video-in-package/), however we have discovered that these video players don’t disappear when the package expires like other file types do. Is this something that can be fixed?

is it possible to start the download directly after open the page url?Example: If I type in https://mypage.de/?wpdmpro=downloadname the download should starts directly without showing the page.
I only use the downloadmanager to organize my downloads for another system and don’t need the detailed page. With this feature I could generate the downloadlink before I create the download in the download manager. It would simplify the organization in our team.

BR TimTopic: Pagination Bug
There is a severe bug in the pagination feature which occurs whenever you have multiple WPDM short codes on a single WP page.
I have multiple WP posts items, each having a WPDM package short code embedded like this

colheads="|Title|Description|Size|Published||"]As soon as I embed more than one WPDM post in a single page (using WP plugin, short code [insert page=”post#” display=”content”) the pagination doesn’t work properly. For example, clicking on / selecting page 2 switches all doenload listings to page 2, not only the one you clicked on. This said, the URL parameter “?cp=2” applies for all [wpdm_all_packages] download lists.

This is still not working. I used the shortcode that you provided to me and the order still doesn’t work… and it also doesn’t made a difference if I change the order to “desc”. Here’s the code I used:

JackieTo unset the download page link we created a new link template and excluded the text link there like mentioned here: https://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/support/topic/how-to-unlink-the-download-page/
After saving that template to all files as well to all categories, the changes are not displayed.
– we don’t use caching
– we are using Pro version
– wordpress updated, PHP updated, all plugins updated
– preview in link template looks well
– we also disabled all other link templated, did not work
– we also tried to remove all shortcode modification, without any successHello,
If you create using that feature, the download link will be like this format: yoursite.com/wp-uploads/2022/12/file.jpg as like the default file links of WordPress.
So Direct download link structure will be changed.
However, with wpdm pro you can upload bulk import download packages by following this doc here.Regards
TanvirWhenever you use the “Create Pay Link” feature and the customer pays, they are redirected to the guest order screen but get a critical wordpress error page since there is nothing to download. The critical error also appears when someone pays for a package but there is nothing to download.
PLEASE FIX it so that the Create Pay Link doesn’t show critical error after payment. It should show the confirmation screen without errorsIn premium package page template there is a template tag: [download_link_extended]
However the issue is that this displays incorrectly:
The price and Add to Cart button should be within the “Buy Now” table card. How to fix this since it’s a WPDM issue because the incorrect CSS is being given to the template tag in the page template. Also, this displays the wrong currency in the <span> (displays USD even when package is selling for different currency)

I have checked your site. The files are arranged properly according to their name. But the folders are not arranged properly.
However, I have tested the shortcode in our testing envirnoment and found everything is working properly.
You can use shortcode like below
[wpdm_tree download_link=1 cat_orderby="name" cat_order="asc"]
It will arrange all categories and files according to alphabet without any issue.Regards

For categories hierarchy, giving access to a certain category for a particular role you have to set from the edit category option, then you have to make empty for theAllow Accessoption or have to give a particular role on it like as I image attached or as usual for the select member option too,

currently, with your tool, we have the following issue:
When we upload a PDF and link the direct link e.g. this one: https://www.lorenz-partners.com/download/b051-international-arbitration-and-commercial-mediation-in-germany-hong-kong-singapore-thailand-and-vietnam/
Then we land on a landing page, where the use can select do view or download the PDF.
Once he clicks download, the user and the Google crawler would get a cryptic URL to view the PDF like this: https://www.lorenz-partners.com/download/b051-international-arbitration-and-commercial-mediation-in-germany-hong-kong-singapore-thailand-and-vietnam/?wpdmdl=26235&refresh=639ac6e39b1ba1671087843&ind=1670491594329&filename=BR051E%20International%20Arbitration%20and%20Commercial%20Mediation%20Nov22%20_%20ONL.pdfNow this is an issue, because Google will not follow that deep and cryptic links.
On top, with our old tool (which is obsolete) the direct link to a PDF was directly linking to the PDF -> this means all PDFs could be crawled by Google and have been. We have over 700 PDFs which drive a lot of traffic to our website. Now all of this traffic leads to 404 because we also can not properly create a forwarding rule to that cryptic direct link to the PDF.How can we remove the sort of landing page from the direct link and directly link the PDF there? So that, all PDFs can be properly indexed again by Google and rank for the relevant keywords?

What is the advantage of buying Paid Plugin that we can’t control the styling of page, link, and email templates? Also, at many places download manager logo is loading. Isn’t it enough that we pay a yearly subscription and still have to market your plugin to our customers, who have nothing to do with your product?
Are you providing a free service to help us manually replace the image in your plugin directory on every plugin update?

I tried several things.. I stopped all plugins, as well as used several themes , and the problem still persists.In fact, only one of these two plugins the tag or links works.
The plugins are:
– Document Library Pro
– Download ManagerWhen I disable one of them (Plugin) the tag works!!
There is a conflict, I don’t know from where?!!
I send this message to you and to other company. I hope that we find the problem and fix it.

We do want to be in Google, etc., searches because we do have pages with download files that are available for the public.

If you click on a file name, it goes to the page created by the page template:

We don’t need, nor want these pages. How do I disable them?
We simply want a page with files listed and a download button next to each file.
I know that I can pass “title” as the parameter instead of “page_link” and this disables the link in the file title, but this does not prevent download manager from creating the page template page. I know this because when I am on a page template page, there are arrows that allow me to traverse through the page template pages.
So, how do I disable page template pages?
