Hey again, don’t want to be bothering but have another question: just bought the WPDM-Directory Add-on and have installed it. It seems to me, that the search function does not work. Could that be a problem on the server side or do you have any other thought? If you want to check, the link is: http://glory.cgdu.de/online-shop/downloads

As you have any news fro me about the former issue I would be extremly thankful …;)

    Best regards

    Martin

I have some kind of problem with IE7. My package links are pop-up, and you can download each package individually. In all browsers works fine (even in IE8), but with IE7 all downloads appear complete wrong.

    Take a look: http://bit.ly/SXTJCb

The link to my blog is this: http://www.lt-light.com/website/productos/consolas/hydra-spirit/

    How can I fix it?

    Thanks

Is it possible to change popup_link default “download” to something more dynamic like actuall download package name?

you can create a matching link template ( http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/docs/integrated-templates/ ) from template section as better for your site and select the template for the widget.

Some time ago, the link that my download linked to was broken, so when I clicked to download, it generated an error log that was 80mbs in size. I was thinking, if the server that I host my downloads on was down for a certain period of time and there were a lot of clicks for downloads during that time, the resulting error log would be insanely huge. Is there a way to make it so that it wouldn’t write that to the error log or a way to limit the messages?

default one coming from /plugins/download-manager/templates/link-template-default.php , you need to edit that file

This is what I did for each package:

1). The embed code changed from “wpdm_file” to “wpdm_package” for each package on all web pages showing a download. I had to change each one manually as you said. I had about 250 packages I changed so it took some time.
2). I selected an icon link – a nice looking download arrow.
3). And finally, under “Package Settings” I checked access. In my case it’s “All visitors”.
4). Lastly, save the changed settings.

While I was doing the conversion no packages were available for my visitors to download. In hindsight, I probably should have done the conversion from the Free version to Pro version when I had more time to devote to converting so my visitors would not have been without being able to download. As a result my visitors were not able to download for several days while I worked on converting over to the Pro version. If I did not have 250 plus packages this process would have been much faster. I’m just saying all this for the benefit of anyone else converting over and who has a lot of packages. The end result is your product looks good on my site and all packages created under the Free version are now working great under the Pro version.

    Thank you for your help.

I am looking for a little help. I bought a premium plugin named as “Download manager”. I am using an email Lock in it i.e. if any one wants to download the stuff he has to add his name and email address.
But the issue is here the when the download link goes to the person who has added his email, He does not get sender’s address and the email comes from an empty address.

    Hi
When a link with download manager is below more tag (word press) I see LOGIN (if someone is not a member) and it’s good! But I would like to redirect LOGIN on another page and not to have the registration form when someone click on LOGIN, do you know how to do this? I’m using whishlist in conjunction.

    THANKS

create a link template following instructions here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/docs/integrated-templates/
then create a package and select the link template for that package ( http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/docs/adding-new-package/ ).

Hi, I also have an issue of FB lock not downloading a package if FB like has already been clicked for the nominated FB site for a package.

I was hoping to have the same ‘FB Like’ be able to be sufficient for someone who has liked one download link to then not have to validate if they go to download another package from my site which also has the same FB lock on a package. Is this how the feature is meant to work?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I’ve modified the file download-page.php, where is located the loop to create the table with all the files inside the package. I’ve add this:

    $file[‘files’] = maybe_unserialize($file[files]);
    rsort ($file[‘files’]);

But this hasn’t resolved my problem. Now the Name of all files are in reverse order (highest to lowest), but the links with the downloads, are still in the normal order.

    Please I need some help

    Thank you.

    Hello,
I’ve already done this and it does not work the same …….
However, it does not create the package download only those with the link above, but if I create the link with TinyURL works then create the package download. But to do these operations waste too much time ….
    Is there a solution?

Hi, I have just upgraded from the free version to the Pro Version. Before I install it into my site I just need to check – how do I ensure I don’t lose all the downloads I have already created? Can I import them into the Pro version? Just need to know as it is a big site and am worried that I will lose all the existing download links. is it a straight upgrade? Cheers Chris

I have trouble getting a link created by the tinyMCE button add-on to work with a password secured download, When the link is clicked I get “Error the download has expired”

Ah okay, never mind, I examined the log further and saw that it was triggered by the download button linking to an invalid url. Then in the 30secs after, it generated what seems to be 80mbs of text error lol.

    No problems here.

    UPDATE:

I’ve found that there’s a several conflict with “Admin Menu Editor” plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/admin-menu-editor/), so I disable it. (Anyway I’d apreciate if you could resolve this conflict)

Anyway, something is still broken: I’ve tried to reinstall several time the plugin (uploading the zip) but it seems like there’s some problem with JS:
    – the “Downloads” menu (WPDM) appears automatically expanded every time I log into WP control panel
    – cliking on any JS standard link on the WP standard admin page (e.g. “Help” or “Screen options” or the “Hello, ” link on top right of the page) anything happens
    – I can’t “save” options (e.g. i wanted to insert my serial key number and save it)
    – I can’t browse files on my pc clicking on “Browse” button while trying to add a new package
    – still getting HTTP 500 error while trying to access to “Manage packages” menu option, the “plugins/download-manager” folder has 777 permissions

    URGENT!!! PLEASE HELP!!

Found the problem. We were forgetting to check the all visitors checkbox in the package. Since we were logged into Chrome and had checked the Administrator box the download links were showing up but when we went to a different machine they weren’t there of course.

After a lot of frustration I decide to upload each file as a package so I could offer downloads for single files. Working in Chrome, I uploaded the files, put each file-package into a page (more than on a page). For each package I have activated the email lock which requires the visitor give up their email address. In addition I am asking for their name. Start testing and all was working well until I tested it in FF. In FF the download link is render as a Login link instead of download. The same thing is true of IE8.
