Hi, is there a way to make a button link open in a new window? I have just one category that uses LINKS for the file. When the Download button is clicked is redirects the users to the video. That’s great, but I would prefer to set the buttons in this category to open in a new window. Is that possible?
there you can clone or edit the page template and replace [download_link] with [download_link_extended]
“lists the files, but no longer lists the download link to the file.” , may you please explain little more.
Just clicking the view link for individual files also gives an error on the resulting page:
Warning: array_intersect() [function.array-intersect]: Argument #1 is not an array in /home/tstlothian/test.lothiancil.org.uk/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/functions.php on line 2254
The link to the file on the page doesn’t point to the file; it seems to point to an empty file. E.g. http://www.lothiancil.org.uk/download/summer-2014-newsletter/
Upgrading has really screwed the file downloads up. There are now now file downloads available on my clients site. I’d appreciate your help with this. Thanks.
Jim
Hi, that’s great for using on pages. However, that’s not going to work for the links that are given using the wordpress download manager “categories” widget. These are not a standard page, it’s an archive page created by the plug in I believe.
from link template remove [page_link] with [page_title], more details are here http://www.wpdownloadmanager.com/doc/templates/link-template/
HI there,
i’m in projects and desperately need the ability to upload via FTP and have files populate in a wp post
After the update, it
lists the files, but no longer lists the download link to the file.
can you give me some guidance on how to setup a template to simply point to
an FTP directory and list all files with name, size, date and download link?
thank you
brent
The link titled “Household Questionnaire/Investor Profile Questionnaire and Investment Policy Statement” doesn’t work. If I download it manually off the server, it is fine, but if I download it through teh wordpress plugin it is corrupt.
Playing around the options in DIVI, I noticed that the Download-Manager links are taking their color from the DIVI link color for the navigation bar which is set to white. Don’t know if that helps, I don’t know enough about CSS to figure it out.
Another problem i face, aside of the first one, if i remove the class fade then the popup appear, then i enter name and email, and i just get a blank page with only this raw text :
{“error”:”<div class=\”alert alert-success\”>Download link sent to your email!<\/div>”,”downloadurl”:””}
the mail is correctly sent, i received it but is it normal ? it’s not suppose to show a simple message without raw html and in the template page ?
Thanks for your help please.
I’m using Download Manager Pro 4.1.2 with the Avada theme. I also have the latest version of WordPress installed.
Here’s my issue: I’ve created about 200 packages on my site (which is an internal site not publically available). I created a custom page template and everything works fine. If you click on any of the packages listed on my custom page, you can access and download the file (package) as expected. However, if you do a site search to find the document, when you click on the link you’re presented with a page that displays the document name, but you are not able to download the file. Please see the attached screenshot. This problem has been happening for a long time! I’ve submitted this question to the forum before, but never got an answer.
To try and resolve the issue, I copied the contents of my custom page template to the 1col-ex-autdio.php template file, but this did not correct the problem. Other than going into each individual package (over 200 of them) and setting the Link Template and Page Template properties, how can this be fixed?
This is important as most users on my site located their documents (packages) by searching for them.

user don’t have to use default login option, you can activate custom login form from download manager settings page which will be shown in page details page when user is not logged in, after login there he will see the download link. Everything will be in same page.

sorry no easy way to change the popover style, but if you use [download_link_extended] in link template, the contents in popover will be directly embedded in page rather than showing as popover
Hello,
I have a big problem with Internet Explorer and Amazong S3 plugin. When the user clicks on an Amazon S3 link in wp download manager, then it always ask to save without extension. It ask save as “MySetup” instead to ask save as “MySetup.exe” This problem is not with common local files in wp download manager.
I did not understand but ‘I still solved the problem.
When I insert a package manually i insert the file name in the summary and when I view all the packages from the file wpdm-all-downloads.php i link the excerpt opening the pdf file in an other window.
Thank you very much for your reply

I just installed the latest version of the download manager and the Form Add-On
1. problem: I created a test download package and locked it with an easy form, which is just asking for an email address. Clicking on the test download opens a popover with the form. I enter an email address and click on send. So far, so good.
Now a new page is loaded. When I now klick on the download, a text-File with the name “link expired” is downloaded, but not the file…
2. problem: the popover is not correctly displayed. it does not “lay over” the rest of the page. (See screenshot)
Hi Shaon,
I have updated to the most version of v2.7.0 and 3 of the issues we discussed in this thread have not been addressed:
1. Password protected file popup box – When you have enabled a password on a file and click on the link in the frontend of the site, a box pops up with field to enter the password. After the entering the password successfully a download button appears and by clicking on it everything works fine. However, the issue is that after successfully downloading the file, the popup remains on the page and there is no way to disable it. Is is possible to automatically disable this box after the download completes or just put a X somewhere on the popup allowing manual closing? See attached screenshot for what I mean.
2. See screenshot – The jquery-ui-timepicker js file does not exist. I checked the file directory and its not included in the package… The chrome console shows the error.
3. No matter what I try, I cannot delete a file from the ‘attach file’ box. i.e. Clicking the large red x does nothing…
Number 1 is from post #15537 above and 2 and 3 are from post #16034 above…
Hi,
2 Questions please.
1/ I have download the WPDM Directory Add-on and all is ok except i don’t know which shortcode i need to have 3 or 4 columns.
Like your demo archive page : http://demo.wpdownloadmanager.com/wpdmpro/archive-page/ where we have 3 columns of packages.
Could you please give me the shortcode i need to do exactly the same ?
Here is actually the shortcode i have (but haven’t my 3 columns): [wpdm-archive cols=”3″ button_style=”default” link_template=”link-template-panel” category=”mobiles,fixe,internet,sav”]
2/ Where i could found and download a french package language to translate download manager and WPDM Directory Add-on.
Thanks.
after subscribe, use received download link. if user use the same link more then 3 times, it will show expired to protect abuse.
looks like you are using wrong tag on link/page template. for locked package you can’t use [download_url] tag, please try changing link/page template.
That just links to this forum post? I have added the code to line #37 but download packages are still showing in results. It worked for me in the past but since I updated yesterday it no longer works.
Hello,
I just wanted to use the password lock on a specific file. But insted of getting the request for a password when I click on the download button I get a link to a .txt file called invalid-link.txt with the message. “Download link is expired or not valid. Please get new download link.”
The cache dir is writable..
I use: Download Manager Pro 3.3.8 and WP 3.9.1
Please let us know what to do next…

I have a client that wants to use this so that their employees can download weekly schedules, project schedules and employee manuals.
What I’d like to do is set it up so that anytime a weekly schedule is added, it sends an email to their employee list with a link to download. Is this possible in the Pro version or do I need to use WPDM Newsletter (which I already purchased) to do it?
If its possible, can you please guide me on how to set it up? Seems pretty simple.
